August 7, 200717 yr I personally think BL looks pretty weak compared to the songs in the oter categories. It has a chance for Best Collab, Best Editing and Best Choreography though. Hopefully another performance this year :D I think a Beautiful Liar performance would be cool but anything would be good as long as it wasn't Hips Don't Lie.
August 9, 200717 yr Just found out she won't be at the VMA's because she's doing a charity gala with Wyclef instead. The VMA's are a complete joke nowadays but still, it woulda been nice to see her again :(

The VMA's are a complete joke nowadays but still, it woulda been nice to see her again :( She hasn't sang BL before... she prob doesn't even know the words, so it'd only be a bad performance anyway...
August 9, 200717 yr ah damn!! that was a chance, this is what i was hoping...award show nominations to bring beyonce & shakira together to get everyone excited the first and maybe only ever performance. the audience would go crazyto see that :cheer: but alas shakira has another commitment, could it be she has to do promo duties for wyclef now for "L-O-V-E" will it be performed at this gala? there is another chance for beekira at the EMAs and other high profile shows the fact they got nominations is a good indication their get more anyway back to the VMA i'm so happy BL got some recognition and deservedly so, i think they have a chance at 2 awards i agree with Josh i have these as the winners too, best editing (the twins theme trying to confuse the viewer its all about the editing) and best collabo they have a strong chance their main rival gwen and akon that was HUGE HIT but not much of a collabo will help shayonce. however justin is an MTV favourite, this era for him has been text book perfection, he could sweep everything. i really want to see them win just 1 would be enough

If it wasn't for Beyonce I don't think she'd be winning anything this year unfortunatley.
August 9, 200717 yr Those are my predictions... leaving Shakria with one win. If it wasn't for Beyonce I don't think she'd be winning anything this year unfortunatley. If it wasn't for shakira BL wouldn't have a lot of nominations.
August 10, 200717 yr  If it wasn't for shakira BL wouldn't have a lot of nominations. I don't think that's true at all. Beyonce has been nominated for 7 awards, she is loved by MTV. I think that if BL does win anything it will be down to MTV's love for Beyonce and not the fact that the song features Shakira.
August 10, 200717 yr i agree beyonce is a grade A artist, she has had many nominations before and has won, BL is a collabo its both beyonce & shakira talents combined, the video is about them being united and sisterly it is reflected in the song and in the video. its not beyonce vs shakira there is no rivally. beyonce is a big fan of shakira she has said so in interviews and shakira has mutual respect and was impressed when beyonce came up with BL which was written especially with her in mind. good luck to both of them next month
August 10, 200717 yr Yeah, it's definately about them as a pair. It's not like it's even Shakira's song though, so it wouldn't really be her award anyway.
August 13, 200717 yr I don't think that's true at all. Beyonce has been nominated for 7 awards, she is loved by MTV. I think that if BL does win anything it will be down to MTV's love for Beyonce and not the fact that the song features Shakira. shakira was nominated 7 times last year as well as the red hot chili peppers and she won one so  Edited August 13, 200717 yr by DaVeLoVeShAkI
September 7, 200717 yr MTV has this on shakira's main Page http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9895/nominationwn6.png MTV nominee
September 11, 200717 yr Author Yes it won something like best collaboration, it had a different name but it was virtually that.
September 12, 200717 yr it won most Earthshattering Collaboration This is what Mtv says and what a fan posted in a Spanish Forum Beyonce And Shakira Win Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration Because Shakira was in Canada and unable to attend, Ms. B takes the stage solo to accept their Moonman for their monumental duet, "Beautiful Liar." http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1568788&vid=173440 http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1568761&photoID=2587652 Edited September 12, 200717 yr by DaVeLoVeShAkI
September 13, 200717 yr well done to beyonce and shakira, i love the way beyonce talks about shakira she acts like a fan and can't help but smile at the thought of working with her. i'm really hoping the EMA's will nominate BL too and it will set up the first and possible only live performance of BL. also look at this footage look how rude 50 cent is towards beyonce, he puts his head down and doesn't acknowledge her at all, she went to kiss him and he wasn't interested. how rude!! not gentleman like behaviour bad manners by him.
