Grimly if you'd take the time to even listen to the lyrics or actually see what she's about you'd see she's a cross above the rest of the mass-marketed drivel inflicted on us so often.

Who else includes lyrics such as "When you go Rwanda, Congo take me on a genocide tour. Take me on a truck to Darfur, take me where you would go". She's one of the few artists who openly champion politics through their lyrics whilst still producing interesting and unusual reason.

The rest of "Kala" is a real mix of styles and influences, "Paper Planes" for example features gunshots and the 'kerching' of a cash register in the chorus and is essentially an anti-America/anti-war song. [ironically the album managed to chart their at #18 after her previous album peaked at #195]. She has a hell of an amount of depth to her character and music and is someone which the 'pop' music scene needs now.

Also note the song is entirely supposed to be a p*** take on the tacky Bollywood scene, for example the 'Bollywood dancers' in the video are in fact Japanese and the tacky theme of the video is very deliberate on her part

Oh and the single version of this is very pop/dance so I say move it here...

I have to admit that, despite thinking Kala is a load of overrated drivel which features too much speak-rapping, this song is bloody brilliant. Not that she cares, but I think it'll do well and then the follow-ups will flop because there are no other songs on the album that could be commercial successes...

Still, I hope this charts highly. :D

How is the single version of Jimmy different from the album version?

Harder, dancier beat and the song is sped up with slightly whispier vocals. It takes time to grow but will sound good in clubs :D
