I have just been listening to these two songs lately after rediscovering them and I noticed how similar the introductions for them both are. Like a musical box type of sound to both the intros. Does anyone else see (or hear) what I mean? I'm not sure how to describe it but they're similar. I think I hadn't realised before because I've never listened to them simultaneously.

Also is 'On my Own' a b-side, a MI reject or a potential new album song (I can't remember  )?

It should have made it on to MI. It's really good and better than a couple of tracks that made it at least!
is it the full version of Reaching Out you have got? I haven't heard it before
the full version isn't out there yet....yaeh there quite similar, but i thought On my own and never fades away were just for the american album, i didn't know they were MI rejects?!
no on my own was not ever going to be on the american album. and never fades away was but i think that was written and recorded for america (since brian was backing vocal). on my own was a mistaken identity reject, but is heaps better that at least 3 tracks on the album
