Posted August 10, 200717 yr Well Sophie is on the show today :D It's 10.30-12.30, but normally there's a chat earlier on the performance about quarter past twelve - still, if you're in, best to keep it on in the background just in case you miss her ^_^
August 10, 200717 yr Ohhhh I've got driving at 10.30 :( Will you post what time she's on in here please so I can see if I've missed it when I get back :(
August 10, 200717 yr Sophie Ellis Bextor It's seven years since Sophie Ellis Bextor burst into the charts and headlines, now after three years away from the music scene she's back with a husband, a beautiful three year old baby and a new album and UK tour. In 2001, Sophie released her debut album, Read My Lips which reached number two on the UK charts and sold over two million copies. Her part cover of Cher "Take Me Home" reached number as did "Murder on the Dancefloor", which became Sophie's biggest single to date and was on charts for 23 weeks. In creating her latest album, Sophie penned 70 - 80 songs some by herself, some collaborations to create a fun dance, disco-pop album which was released in may this year entitled Trip the Light Fantastic. She says: "I just did it for myself. I feel that as I've got a life outside work, now that I'm married and I'm a mother, I am not so dependant on my career to make me happy but at the same time your work takes you away from home so it has to count for more." Sophie supported George Michael on his UK tour leg in June 2007. Her own UK tour starts on the 14th August 2007, entitled Trip The Light Fantastic Tour. The third single from Trip The Light Fantastic is Today the Sun's on us which was released on Monday 6 August. In 2004 Sophie took a break her musical career to take care of her first child, a boy named Sonny born in April of that year with Richard Jones, who is bass guitarist for the band, The Feeling. The pair married, on 25 June 2005 in Italy. Sophie says that Sonny likes some of her music and said: "He likes a track on the new album called Love is Here which funnily enough was written about him." That bit in bold is taken from Wikipedia  nowhere else have I seen it called TTLF Tour apart from there :P
August 10, 200717 yr As if she mimed :( But she's really good at miming and she didn't slip up once so I think a lot of people wouldn't know she was miming, only us dedicated fans  Anybody notice Richard (her husband) playing drums? ;)
August 10, 200717 yr Author I didn't noticed that actually :P And yes, she is a good mimer at least. Hopefully now the song will start to climb iTunes.
August 10, 200717 yr Still her 3rd most popular, nothing on any of the charts.. then again she has only just performed it :P
August 10, 200717 yr Author The problem was those early performances she did a few weeks back were TOO early, and on This Morning today they didn't even mention when you could buy or download the single :(
August 10, 200717 yr I know yeah, I thought they might have included her single in that bit at the end when they done the spin or bin thing, unfortunatley not :(
August 10, 200717 yr Author Well yeah, even though TTSOU might miss Top 40 and will be her lowest-charting single, (and i know people will say 'If You Go' would've gone Top 10, but that's bullsh!t) but TTLF seems to be having quite a nice recovery :D
August 10, 200717 yr I watched the performance today. It was an ok performance, but not better than that after the last two really great live performances. Shame it was mimed. I have my fingers crossed for Sunday!! I never knew there was a place as good as this for following Sophie's chart progress and other stuff until a few days ago. Everyone does a great job here, hopefully i can contribute myself a bit. :)
August 10, 200717 yr Yeah, it was after i got the msg i decided not to be such a stranger. I have been nosing around the last few days. Thanks for the welcomes! :) SOPHIE! Wooo!
