I was a massive fan of theirs - great harmonies of Alan Clark & Graham Nash

My faves are:

Just One Look

Here I Go Again

Yes I Will

I'm Alive

Look Through Any Window

I Can't Let Go

Stop Stop Stop

On A Carousel

King Midas In Reverse

Gasoline Alley Bred

Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress (their only US #1)

The Air That I Breathe (their best ballad)

A piece of trivia:

Does anyone know what was the Hollies first hit after the departure of Graham Nash to for Crosby Stills & Nash?

Who replaced him and what band did he come from.

If nobody gets it - ANSWERS LATER

I've always liked them, a great sixties band who were always in the charts from '63 through to the early 70's.

My fave tracks were:

Just one look

Here I go again

I'm alive

I can't let go

On a carousel

Sorry Suzanne

Gasoline Alley Bred

Long cool woman in a black dress

The baby

The air that I breathe

The Hollies and The Searchers could do no wrong for me!!! Both still touring - I try to see them every time they are local to me.

I think 'Stay' was The Hollies first single and probably the very first record I ever bought!! Tony Hicks was always my favourite band member and he is the only original in the band today. Similarly, John McNally was my favourite Searcher and I believe he is the only original with them also!! :D

Searchin' - #12 with a 14 week chart stay. (This was a cover of a Coasters hit) LISTEN HERE

Stay - #8 with a 16 week chart stay.

They had 4 #2 hits - Just One Look - I Can't Let Go - Stop Stop Stop - The Air That I Breathe

They had 2 #1 hits - I'm Alive - He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother (on re-issue in 1988) originally in 1969 it peaked at #3

The Hollies were a great band who had a lengthy string of hits from 1963 to 1974 in the UK.

My Top Three Songs by them are:

3. I Can't Let Go (1966)

2. Dear Eloise (1967)

1. Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress (1972) (how did this only make UK#32)
