Posted August 10, 200717 yr From Culturedeluxe: Legend - it's a word continually overused. Usually rolled out by marginal press to to describe a former celebrity on a desperate comeback trail. But tonight a true musical legend has passed away. Anthony H Wilson, musical impresario, founder of Factory Records and loveably hapless lunatic has lost his battle with cancer. Tony was diagnosed with the disease last year and underwent an emergency operation in January to remove a kidney. Since then he has been receiving medicine paid for by the acts he made famous after the NHS refused the £3,500 per month treatment. He died in hospital tonight. Click for the full obituary
