I thought it sounded a weird thing to do but maybe she's been living out there. Also, she won't have to face Simon in Aussie PI.

She only needs to get to the final 10/12 to get herself enough of a profile to interest all the celeb mags and make lots of money, with or without releasing a record.

What would you think if Darius did something like that. Good luck to Rosie, she had a good voice and has probably improved a lot since the original pop idol days here. The problem being that they do vote for their own dont they.
I think it would be a big mistake if Darius did similar to Rosie. He's done it twice, a third time would seem like desperation.
record of the day have picked up on an interview with pete waterman who discusses popstars the rivals and other programmes being a fix. There is a long thread about it.

oh dear I hope not

Darius wouldn't do reality TV again

..and he certainly doesn't need to do an X factor....he is recognised, has a record contract and has had a sucessful run on 2 Musicals

he does need to build up his music fans again...but by doing his own gigs - which he must get planning

If the media hadn't savaged Darius after Popstars and dragged his family into the hounding and humiliation, he would never have got to the stage where he felt his only recourse was to put himself in the reality TV firing line again, but this time on a "live" show. He'd never have done PI if they'd allowed him to get back to his normal life like all the others who were cut from Popstars. It's been a huge millstone around his neck ever since.

Darius back on reality TV? I know it's a hypothetical suggestion but it's completely preposterous.

Darius had to struggle all the way to be free of the sort of nonsense expected of those who do well in these shows and the controlling nature of the contracts.

He insisted on doing things his way and that meant turning down the lucrative get rich quick route and instead creating his own music from scratch sometimes alone, sometimes with his producers and for Live Twice, collaborating with other songwriters. He has succeeded but nevertheless is still lumped in with those who took the easy option and said yes, yes, yes to being not much more than karaoke singing cash cows. Who else from reality TV can say that they have never had a single cover version on their albums? Which other RTV people co-wrote every track on their debut albums ?

Darius has accepted that being recognised is part of the job but doesn't crave it. If he had, he would have taken up the many lucrative sponsorships and adverts he was offered. So the lure of national recognition and the constant grind of media interviews asking frivolous questions about the show, wouldn't be much of a temptation.

He's never been a great consumer, never a big spender, so money wouldn't tempt him either.

He definitely wouldn't countenance their kind of record contract where it's all cut and dried and the artist has little or no say about anything. Why on earth would he, when he has his own recording studio and the freedom to do exactly as he wants ?

I can't think of anything else such a show would have to offer.

X FACTOR hopeful Daniel DeBourg has already had a multi-million pound record deal, TV Biz can reveal.

Essex-born Daniel, 25, got his big break by writing songs for R&B star Jamelia — before landing a lucrative contract in the US.

And his OWN debut single — I Need An Angel — was re-recorded by American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

Daniel trained at London’s Royal Ballet School from the age of 11 and fronted bands in his teens.

His rough demo tapes landed in the hands of manager Dean Zepherin who was scouting talent for DreamWorks Records in the US. And the company moved swiftly to sign the youngster on a mega-bucks deal.

Judge ... Simon Cowell

Daniel worked with stars including R Kelly for his debut album Tell The World, released in 2002.

The first single I Need An Angel hit the Top 30 of the US Billboard charts — and was remade by Idol winner Studdard in 2004. But Daniel’s career has stalled in the past couple of years and he is no longer under contract to DreamWorks.

Daniel was seen briefly on the first episode of the ITV1 talent hit — starring judge Simon Cowell — last Saturday.

Last night, an X Factor spokeswoman defended the decision to let Daniel go through to the late audition stages.

She said: “The rules of the competition quite clearly state that you cannot have a current record or management deal when entering the show.

“The X Factor is as much for professional singers who consider this to be their last chance in the business as people who have had no experience whatsoever.”

The finalists still have to jet off to the judges’ houses early next month before discovering who will make it to the live shows.

I haven't seen him but, he has the right to apply. I probably wont be watching though

I only ever watch occassionally, it bores me the same old expressions and statements.

If I glanced in ad saw people the standard of Pop Idol 1, then I'd strt watching - I think it unlikely though.
No it isn't. If you saw someone else with Darius' talent and personality, you just may find time though.

if I divorced and ignored my children, dogs and work....then if I ignored work I'd have no money so that would stop that then......

best not go looking
