An update from the administrator over at the official forums:

Jamelia returns triumphantly to the UK music scene this autumn with a collection of her greatest hit singles, 'Superstar - The Hits', released via Parlophone Records (EMI) on September 24th 2007!

'Superstar - The Hits' features seven Top Ten singles including the smash hits 'Thank You', 'See It In A Boy's Eyes', 'Something About You' and of course Jamelia's worldwide anthem 'Superstar'!

The album celebrates Jamelia's ten successful years in the music industry, taking the listener on a journey from her first Top 5 monster smash hit 'Money', right through to her recent Top 10 hit single 'Beware Of The Dog'.

Jamelia says: "It seems the right time to put out a Greatest Hits and have all the best tracks I've recorded from the past ten years on one album".

Check back here soon for full details of 'Superstar - The Hits'!

Well thanks for the info, but it seems certain there's no lead single for it :(

It might not be too bad, Jack.

TLC managed to get to #53 with their recent GH. I know it doesn't seem like an achievement, but when you consider all the promotion it received was adverts, it really isn't bad at all.

Jamelia's been everywhere and she's more recent, so even if it's just adverts & reviews that are promoting it, there's a chance it could still chart well.

If the label put out a megamix video to channels to promote, that would be good too.

That's a good idea, the megamix vid. Even if not, like you said the song should speak for themselves as long as we get a decent TV ad. ^_^

I hope that's not real - to include No More but not Boy Next Door?!
  • Author
Not if BND isn't -_- BND is better and was a bigger chart success!
But still its a GH so they should have it on there and BND. Theres gotta be a reason why they havent. FIND OUT!!!

Because Parlophone are a piece of c**p, Paul.

This tracklisting really doesn't suprise me.

Unless there's some legal reason - which seems unlikely since all the other Drama singles are included - it's stupid not to include BND. It would quite easily fit on the tracklisting.

It would, but you have to remember Parlophone are trying to make profit from this. "No More" is more known & recent than "Boy Next Door" (despite it charting lower). Most people don't even know she released "Boy Next Door". I don't see why they couldn't include it on there in the first place. There's plenty of room for "Boy Next Door" and a couple of unreleased songs.

Ugh. :(

Well - let's at least wait for this to be made official. :D

From Popjustice:

This is out in a few weeks.

FYI all of those songs - amazingly, there's virtually one for every year of Jamelia's career - except 'No More' are brilliant.

In other news ('in other news' in the sense of 'also on the press release'), Jamelia is about to move into the haircare world. That's right - she's got herself a Saturday job sweeping the floor at Toppers. We are joking, of course. She has teamed up with Erin O'Connor and Helena Christensen to invent something called 'Model.Me' which is a range of stuff to put on your hair to make it look nice.

Blimey.
