Its from a new film that was released in the States over the weekend "Stardust" directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake). It is not on the film's OST though. A lot of people who've seen the film seem to like the song. If rumours are true Vaughn will be directing TT's video for the single release.

Everyone who saw the movie claims it's actually an awesome tune :D I really can't wait. Does anyone know when it will be available on the radio?

I saw the trailer for Stardust when I was at the cinema yesterday, and overheard someone in front of me saying.... Take That have done the song for the soundtrack and it's supposed to be brilliant

The film looked really good from the trailer :cheer: If they're trailing it in the cinemas now I'd have thought it would be out for around half term (October) and probably the single will coincide with the release of the film - nice timing for the start of the tour as well :yahoo:

Take That - Rule The World

60 second link here.

Personally I love it, the verse remiinds me of Morten Harket's A-Ha, the killer chorus is classic brothers Gibbs (Bee Gees), all over a commercial Snow Patrol alternative-rock type of backing track with a soaring string arrangement included.

Early days, but I think this could be even better than Patience......

What a shame it will probably only make UK#2 behind the much hyped by Simon Cowell/X-Factor Leona Lewis single....

I agreee!

I've heard it several times (although the best listenings have been on Radio1 and Radio2 this morning). Even though the song is heaps better than the very average Leona Lewis song - it will not beat her to number one. Her PR machine and the media frenzy over an X-Factor winner will ensure she has the top spot. I honestly don't think the boys are bothered though!

Kathy

Leona will get number 1 over TT

and ive gotta be honest, I love Take That

but Leona's song is better

Will be VERY close between Leona, Take That and McFly.

I really didn't like this track to begin with but I like it now. Is very anthem-esque and it's a radio friendly song as well and it's the sort of track Radio 1 are likely to playlist.

Not sure who'll come on top between Leona, Take That and McFly. I like Leona's track but I think it's very bland, but because of the PR campaign behind her it will give her a much needed boost and she really needs it aswell as the whole world has just about forgotten about her whereas it hasn't forgot about Take That or McFly.

it will not beat her to number one. H

I would'nt be that firmly convinced Leona will go to number one. Xfactor is not the best thing around and the hype surrounding Leona last year is definitely gone. I do think TT will do loads of promo as well and their new song will appeal to none fans too unlike I'd Wait For Life. We'll have to wait and see, but i really doubt Leona could beat TT with the song like this.

It just depends on how the ratings are this year for X Factor. I know a lot of people think it will help her get to #1 but i'm not sure. I guess time will only tell.

Shall be very interesting that's for sure though! :D

I agree and disagree Mikey, I've heard Leona's and I think its very bland and boring ... but I still think she will beat Take That to number one ... she has the curiosity factor going for her now ... people wanting to hear her after such a long time ... Take That have lost that.

Kathy

a long time ... Take That have lost that.

Lost what? A curiosity factor? Dont think so at all. I think this song will do very well outside the UK too. Uk people do have a very specific taste in music actually. The acts like Leona, Westlife or Shane Ward would never ever top the charts elsewhere to be honest.

people wanting to hear her after such a long time

The desire to hear it because of the curiosity -one thing. The desire to BUY it because of its quality-completely opposite thing.

Don't bit me bl**dy 'ead off Locott! Only Joking!

No - by the curiosity factor - I mean people may have been a bit 'overexposed' to the boys by the time of release. They're the new face of M&S Autograph menswear range and will be plastered over all their shops between now and Christmas. They're performing the song at movie awards show on 28th September which will be televised the next day (will check dates for you). If their tour allows it - they'll most probably be at the Leicester Square premier of the Stardust film. Maybe people will want to rebel and buy the Leona song to hit back.

Don't get me wrong - I want Take That to hit number one - their song is far superior to Leona's. Wherever it ends up in the chart - it will definitely stick around longer than Leona or McFly.

Kathy

I've got your point, Kathyp. But still don't get how the Xfactor thingy will guarantee her number one spot .I mean,if i was just curious to hear the song i would go to youtube or any other place, but there's no chance i'd buy it. I could buy a single or an album of those artists i want to support or those ones i really really like.I somehow doubt Leona has that big fan base to be honest.

I hope you're right. But I've become something of a pessimist after the I'd Wait For Life thing. Speaking of that song though ... I managed to get some US posters on IMDb to listen to some TT stuff and one guy thought IWFL was an absolutely fabulous song. I get the feeling that if they released that song in the US ... it could be a hit for them - OK not number one - but it could be a top-ten charter.

I'm just glad that all four of these guys are doing great at the moment. No-one deserves it more than them after the constant put-downs they've suffered before this 'second incarnation'.
