The film has already started leaving cinemas over there - playing on about a third of the screens that it did on release (at best). Kathy
September 20, 200717 yr YES i agree this is ther e chgance to have another big hit in the us again Well I think Leona Lewis will win the battle for the number one spot with them. She's already on the Radio 1 playlist (yes I know Radio 1 is sh*te but for some reason its the station everyone looks to - personally I prefer local - like Merseyside, Wish, or even Radio 2 - Take That's song is currently their record of the week.) I think the 400,000 that bought her X Factor song will probably buy this one too. Oh well - they can't have everything .... they've already got a shed-load of money from M&S and probably a shed-load of clothese too! Kathy

I expect it will still do well for them as they are still really popular, but if Take That do even minimal promotion for Rule the world they should do a lot better. I think it's a great song which really deserves to get to number 1 :cheer:

I think its taken for granted now that Leona will hit number one (having said that - I think Take That's song will stick on the chart for much longer). She has Radio 1 behind her. In a way - its a good thing ... she is the out and out favourite so there is a mountain of pressure taken off Take That - they probably know that given the hype and curiosity surrounding Leona (because her song is pants) will see her to number one - that they will, I'm certain, be happy with number 2. Besides that - the lads themselves really like her and if they're to be beaten to number one - I'm sure they'd rather it was by her. It's the US situation I'm interested in (to hell what happens in the UK chart). When the hell are they going to release this over there? There is a mountain of interest in the song from everyone who has seen Stardust .... everyone is raving about it. This could be the one and only chance Take That have of having a hit in the US (OK - apart from Back for Good) and it may be ruined for them by a late release over there (having said that - they may have had no intention of releasing it there in the first place). I actually liked the fact that they seemed to show more film clip than actuall footage of Take That ... not that I don't want to see more of them .... but it seems Take That's video is a heck of a lot better (as promotion) than the actual film trailer was .... and I think if US viewers get to see the video - then it'll not only be good for the lads - but it will be good for the film. Besides ... the film looks fab - Robert DeNiro looks pretty fit! Kathy
