Posted August 13, 200717 yr as we know shakira is featured on a new santana track, she worked with him on "illegal" and he has asked her to return the favour and appear on a track called "Into The Night" which featiures lil wayne too some new info has emerged from showbizz.net it basically says.... Carlos Santana will include 3 new songs on his greatest hits album "Ultimate Santana" to be released Octuber 13 on Arista Records. One will be a collaboration with Shakira and Lil Wayne, a song entitled "Into the Night", written and produced by Chad Kroeger, singer for Nickelback, and a new version of the hit "The Game of Love" with Tina Turner interesting written & produced by chad, what kind of song will it be? before i knew this i thought it was going to be latin/pop/urban fusion but now i'm thinking rock/pop/latin/urban fusion is there such a genre? or maybe not maybe a pop/rock track if it is more rocky then what is lil wayne doing on there? i have no idea but one thing is for sure i am excited and intrigued to hear it!! all this waiting for the wyclef and santana collabos i think it will be worth it!! what do you think? do we want to hear a song similar to the classic "smooth"? could it be better? could it be the lead single? answer now!! yes Edited August 13, 200717 yr by perfecto
August 13, 200717 yr I'm looking forward to this a lot :D But I think the info is misleading, they are referring to the Shakira and Lil Wayne song, then Into the Night by Chad is the second song and then the Tina song. It's gonna be an interesting mix though, hopefully something upbeat... Illegal IMO is such a let down so I have a lot of hope for this song.
August 13, 200717 yr Author oh i see  that makes more sense, yes 3 tracks....one written and produced by chad and no doubt he'll be on it and the other 2 shakira & wayne little and then tina turner, so one rock, one latin/urban fusion and one downtempo adult contempoty track. its been really well thought out his people trying to appeal to all markets. santana doesn't do uptempo so i am thinking shakira and lil wayne midtempo ala "smooth" i hope shakira dominates the track and lil wayne has a small bit but i doubt it, more like he raps on either the verses or chorus with shakira doing the other parts, we know santana doesn't sing or rap so he will be doing the full bridge no surprises there. as far as single chad must be a contender for the lead single too they may release both in close proximity so target different markets. now everyone ignore what i wrote at the top apart from some of it!! some i said!! :( Edited August 13, 200717 yr by perfecto

Have you heard Cry Baby Cry from Santana's last album? It's Joss Stone and Sean Paul and it's basically like what you described. I always imagined that Shakira should've done Cry Baby Cry, it would've been perfect for her. GymuB1VP7X0
August 14, 200717 yr Author interesting....good example i see the vocal arrangement although i have a feeling shakira will dominate she will do verses and choruses cause lil wayne isn't an A list artist so he should and could have a minimal input. maybe his voice is in background "one time.,..two time" and he gets just one verse or no verse just a semi bridge  i can't wait for it though i am hoping there is just a shakira only version and a spanish version or a spanish remix featuring daddy yankee there is alot of potential! i hope sony is thinking clearly like me -_-
August 15, 200717 yr This may become the third Shakira song I dislike, along with Antologia & Lo Imprescindible :o Lil' Wanye is the most off putting rapper I have encountered
August 15, 200717 yr Author i'm not really familar with his music, was he on the remix to "soldier" he's not got much character but i prefer him to her working with egomanics 50 pence or kanye. lets just hope lil wayne has lil input

August 18, 200717 yr Author sounds like he could be a lil payne too but we'll give him a chance we need to hear the song, i hope santana's people know what they are doing we have to remember its their project not shakiras
August 20, 200717 yr Into the Night is the first single now. It leaked yesterday - it's not bad actually :D But I really wanna hear Shakira's song now :(
August 20, 200717 yr Author i heard it too not bad just so so nothing amazing, the kind of song i thought it would be i like chad's voice though, i think both santana and wyclef are forced into waiting and not lead with the shakira collabos cause she is on her break. she doesn't want to do promo work yet for them, it could be the marriage coming up it does make sense this big gap in september/october or she could be making them wait till the new year. i wonder which track will be better wyclef's "L-O-V-E" or santana's song? i think both will have A+ production especially wyclef, its quite exciting i can't wait for leakage ;)
