it's a shame that when ex-'babe Siobhan is releasing such absolutely brilliant music - but getting virtually ignored, that the Sugababes are releasing seriously substandard singles that are almost guaranteed a number one slot

I was looking at the release scheduel earlier. I reckon they'll knock Blunt to #2. Phonics #3, Shayne #4.

Shayne has waited far too long to release his single and it's not even that strong to reach #1 I reckon.

I hope anyway

They played another new shane ward song on radio 1 before

Louis Walsh practically forced Scott Mills to say it was 1/2 decent

What its up against, the week of release:

Shayne Ward – If That’s Ok With You / No U Hang Up

Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler

Stateless – Bloodstream

Stereophonics – It Means Nothing

Sugababes - About You Now

T-Pain feat Akon - Bartender

Only Shayne there imo, who could be competition. But the babes will chart higher than him i think.

Stereophonics are almost guaranteed a number one with every debut single release..... and the buzz around their new stuff is massive, bigger than ever.

Only Dakota was no.1 for them and that was a proper festival anthem

They seem to be going back to their original sound with Bank Holiday Monday therefore might not be as commercial

They're guaranteed a hit though ^_^

LOL what a joke, guaranteed top 5 at the very very least!

well, of course you would say that - you're an impartial mega-fan.

The startling fact that this single is well below par for them appears irrelevant to you.

Siobhan Donaghy must be SO glad she's shot of this nasty bunch of sour-faced old cows. After all - she may not sell many records, but her stuff stands head and shoulders above anything the Sugababes have ever recorded.

He would. <_<

I'm not too sure then.

Sugas and Shayne could both chart #5ish or lower if we're being realistic.

^^^^ Old? Sugababes old? I think they have just turned like 22 or something :|

Siobhan is good, she just isnt making music that people want to hear.

I really like the new single, I don't think it sounds substandard at all! It's something fresh and new for them imo :D

Top 3, I can see #2.

Really, really not. Dakota managed #1 because it was a good song rather than simply being the Stereophonics, and they've not had any other #1 hits; hardly a "guaranteed" number 1 with every debut.

They shouldn't have any problem getting a #1 album though.

I reckon #4 for the Sugababes. Two years ago, this would have been #1 surefire, but the recent chart performances of Easy and Follow Me Home haven't been encouraging.

They've easily been the most consistent girl group of the decade so far, aside from Walk This Way ever single has been sublime.

1. The Sugababes are not 'old'

2. Have you ever bought a Sugababes album? Taller In More Ways had high critical acclaim and was fukking brilliant.

3. You don't have to be a megafan to predict big success; every past lead single to a studio album has gone to number 1 with ease.

LOL!!!

So you're suggesting, as they're not 'old' - they're still, as I said, sour faced cows, then?

Yes, I own 3 Sugababes albums - and not one of them is in the same league as the most recent Siobhan album - nowhere even close.

And this single IS a far-cry from the pure pop brilliance of their other hits..... it sounds tired, generic, and I think the band have been overdosing on Kelly Clarkson and Girls Aloud albums whilst they've been away. Never a good move.

Absolutely even worse than the awful, awful Red Dress and Ugly.

Lol! Yeah, they're very sour  Nah, i like them but the press do make the girls look twisted. Maybe in time ABN will grow on you ^_^
I've a friend whose best mate is Siobhan Donaghy - believe me, what the press say about Keisha and Mutya is nowhere near as bad as how vile those 2 were to her.....
