Why reality didn't bite for Zoe

That first Pop Idol was the blueprint for a worldwide telly revolution. It yielded a bona fide star in the shape of Will Young, an on-off star in Gareth Gates, and Darius Danesh, who, despite at first seeming terminally pleased with himself, has had record success and now a career in musical theatre. Behind these three came Zoe.

Apologies I should have said with thanks to Sooz who posted this on DM.
I hate the bit 'terminally pleased with himself'. That's just the excitement and happiness of the way things were going. Enthusiasm is good.
why, oh why do they always feel they have to add extra bits/digs.....where's that smilie with me pulling my hair out!!

oh right....now I understand

still would like a smilie of me pulling out my hair....

Grudging as always, but the facts are there, very plain to see and not easily dismissed.

Despite sustained opposition from some pretty influential quarters, Darius has forged not one but two successful careers, so far.

Too true Baytree but they are doing their best to blanket him out. There is a question and answer from Brenda on WOS where she is asked about the comings and goings in chicago but he doesnt get a mention.

Darius was only at the Cambridge for 3 weeks. He had already been Billy so he wouldn't have needed to do many rehearsals where he would have had the opportunity to chat socially to Brenda and the other members of the cast. I only recall one short piece of dialogue between BF and Mama Morton. Also, they wouldn't have had much chance to chat in the wings either because they tended to use different entrances, Mama Morton usually from the left facing the stage and Darius from the centre and right for most scenes.

Bonnie and Amra were there when Brenda first joined the company and Ashley was new to Roxie and would have needed several rehearsals involving Brenda because they appear in a number of scenes together. So its hardly surprising she would mention them.

It isn't a webchat so we don't really exactly what Brenda said about any subject or how the interview was edited for publication.

I came home tonite and opened my local paper, to see that Chicago is coming to this area and there was a full two page spread on Ian kelsey ALONE with five photographs of him, two of which were almost full page and the two page write up was about him only. When did Darius get that sort of attention. When D came to party in the park at plymouth a few years ago, he didnt even get a mention only the other acts. There is obviously a reason for this and that same reason exists where the local radio only play acts from a certain label and you cant go in a shop where this station is playing without hearing........

I may go although I went to the last tour and cant even rememember who played Billy other than it wasnt Ian kelsey. I do remember the leading girl Roxie was very young and very good but again dont remember her name. I probably will make the effort although its not until mid october. I will make the effort to see the local dramatic society do Oklahoma because they are so bnlliant and professional after seeing them do Thoroughly modern millie.Im going to see the Proclaimers in October also.
