I dont get it, some of them sales are really weird. Is it based on combined sales (as in, if an artist has had 2 albums that have done well, both of them sales are put together) or something?

It's based on all the albums an artist has sold in each year, including sales of older albums as well. So for instance, in 2006 Robbie sold 890,000, but well over half of that was sales of older albums that were not released in 2006. But the thing is 890 does not mean exactly 890,000, it could be anywhere between 890-900,000. ^_^

Its a brilliant way of finding out exact figs for people, well near enough.

Yeah, I'd presume when singles were added she would be #1. Albums alone, Eminem is by a large margin, near 70m sold :o

Yep, she has sold just under 60 million with albums alone this in the past 7 years...so she is the biggest selling female artist of this century.

With singles added she has sold just under 90 million, and Eminem is right behind her in the mid-eighties. That's from a report in Billboard magazine last year.

Oh, do you have a link. Sounds interesting. ^_^

I actually have in it in magazine, I can scan it this weekend when I go visit my dad... They will probably have the information on Billboard.com though...

And she has sold 60 million, if you include the sales from her first album that extended into the year 2000...
