Posted August 18, 200717 yr My Match previews random or what Portsmouth V Bolton 12:45 This weekends early kick off has two team searching for their first wins of the season. Pompy so far have drawn against both Derby and Manchester United. Bolton have lost to Newcastle and Fulham. Both teams had top half finishes last season, Bolton getting into Europe where Pompy just missed out, will Portsmouth get revenge on Bolton and send them crashing to a third straight defeat? Birmingham V West Ham Birmingham were perhaps a bit unlucky against Chelsea last Sunday. However they have proved weak at the back considering five goals in two games. West Ham perhaps lucky to still be in the Premier League after the Trevz affair, had a bad start to the season losing 0-2 at home to Manchester City. West Ham will be more rested having not played since last Saturday, where Birmingham have played 3 games in 7 days. Fulham V Middlesbrough Fulham and Middlesbrough both struggled towards last season. Fulham were unlucky to concede to late goals to Arsenal last week and will be hoping to build on the win against Bolton in midweek. Middlesbrough have struggled losing to both Blackburn and Wigan. Middlesbrough will be looking for their first points of the season to get the season going for them. Reading V Everton Reading have had probably the most difficult start to the season, playing Man United and Chelsea within 4 days of each other. Unlucky to get anything against Chelsea in midweek will be looking to get their first win of the season against top of the table Everton. Everton will be looking to stay top of the table at the end of the weekend and only a win against Reading will secure that. Tottenham V Derby Tottenham pushing for champions league? Last years 5th place have had a terrible start to the season and after two games are at the bottom of the table. Spurs will be hoping for a win to turn their season around and start their push for a top four finish. Derby promoted via the playoffs and many peoples top tips to go down have played two and drawn one. Meaning all the promoted teams have gotten points. Derby will be hoping that Spurs bad luck continues and will be looking to follow Sunderland and Everton and take three points from the Londoners. Wigan V Sunderland Wigan are here after surving on goal difference last season. Wigan will be hoping to double their points with a win over Sunderland. The last time they were both in the Primer League Wigan did the double over Sunderland, as the black cats set a new worst ever points total record. Sunderland have had their best start to a season for a few seasons. The Black Cats could return to the top of the Primer League at the end of today if Everton slip up and they beat Wigan. Newcastle V Aston Villa 17:15 Newcastle are c**p end off Many people think Newcastle will be knocking on the door of Europe this year. Big Sam has gotten Newcastle 3 points from 1 game, beating his former club Bolton. Aston Villa are one of 5 clubs who have yet to gain a point this season. Neither team played in midweek so will both will be fresh and ready to go. Sunday Games All the big four play today Blackburn V Arsenal 15:00 Both teams played and won in Europe in midweek after both winning at the weekend. Arsenal will be looking to get back into the top 4 and will want to stay there for the rest of the season. Blackburn will want a automatic place in the Uefa cup next season rather than having to go through the Intertoto cup Liverpool V Chelsea 16:00 Games between the big four usually end up in a draw and this will probably end up the same here. Both teams have large and strong sides, and will probably cancel each other out. Man City V Man Utd 13:30 The Manchester derby! City have won both of their games where Utd have drawn both. This is a derby game so really anything could happen. Utd will be hoping to win their first game of the season and City will be looking to make it three for three.

August 19, 200717 yr Ironic that after 3 games Spurs are a "crisis club" according to the newspapers and are about to fire Jol yet are ahead in the table of Utd and there is no pressure on Fergie's job and no crisis
August 19, 200717 yr That's what I was about to put. We've already seen people call for the heads of Curbishley, Jol and Lee so far. In comparison to Man Utd's start theirs aren't that bad. Yet no one will be saying it's time to sack Fergie. I do think that selling Smith and Rossi is the biggest mistake he's made since signing Veron. They need a striker and don't have one at all. Saha and Solskjaer spend more time in the treatment room and both Rooney and Tevez are the players you want to support a main striker. They're like Lampard and Gerrard, can't see them working together at all. They badly need a striker, I've seen Anelka mentioned at £12m. It's a bit expensive but they may as well, they're going nowhere without someone like him.
August 19, 200717 yr how about Jermain Defoe :funky: and you can't win a title with one "forward" with just Tevez on his own I'm afraid
August 19, 200717 yr Defoe like Tevez and Rooney is a midget, wouldn't work Would not be surprised to see the yanks make a move for Berbatov he would score for fun in their system
August 19, 200717 yr He is back in a couple of weeks We turned down £35m in the summer for him Now we have Bent I would not be overly bothered if we sold Berbatov
August 19, 200717 yr an absolute joke of a penalty given to Chelski, Liverpool robbed of 2 points there
