Posted August 18, 200717 yr not sure if these are familiar with folk here - but they're well worth checking out. Hailing from Texas, their sound is part Simon and Garfunkel, part folk, part Supertramp - weeeeird combo, I know - but they're pretty special. Chill out Sunday afternoon gorgeousness, the new album is... very 60s/early 70s - if you like Al Stewart or things a little folk/prog (don't be scared :P) - this is for you. Radio One's Edith Bowman championed 'Roscoe', their last single, so you may have heard it. Catchy as scabies, all of it. Their MySpace has a few snippets here: http://www.myspace.com/midlake and pieces of the new album can be heard here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FVQYJ...ance&n=5174 this is their first album, again, a gem: http://www.amazon.com/Bamnan-Slivercork-Mi...8833&sr=1-1

Yeah like Midlake they are cool (and i suppose if anybody has to be part supertramp its better than the feeling or GCH  ) however have to agree with the guardian that this is one hell of a $h!t album cover, but i suppose people are gonna read the critic's reviews (great) rather than buy it for the cover  http://worlds-fair.net/images/artists/midlake/midlake-cd.jpg
