Shayne Ward has claimed that The X Factor would have flopped if Louis Walsh had not been reinstated.

The 22-year-old singer, who won the show in 2005, explained that Simon Cowell risked ruining a "winning formula" by sacking Louis and replacing him with Grease Is The Word star Brian Friedman.

Shayne also rejected claims that Walsh being fired from the ITV1 talent series was a publicity stunt.

"Louis's sacking was 100 per cent genuine. They wanted something new so they thought they'd try new judges and change around the set, and Louis did get axed - I know because he was gutted," Shayne told the Manchester Evening News.

"But now that he's back, it's great - the show wouldn't have worked without him. He's done it for three years with Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell and it was a winning formula."

When is he going to stop being Louise's puppet?

They deserve each other & to think I was actually beginning to feel a little sorry for Shayne.

The man's allowed an opinion! Jeez. And tbh, he's right to some extent - the public wouldn't have liked Brian I dont think.
I don't think he's up his arse which is what I think you are implying, I think he is just supporting his manager, I mean he became Manc lad to pop star in a few months, of course he's going to give Louis tons of respect ^_^
