Posted August 23, 200717 yr Brandon Flowers says B-sides collection and Xmas single are on the way The Killers are releasing a new album this year frontman Brandon Flowers has told NME.COM. Despite having said goodbye to the UK with headlining shows at the V Festival last weekend (August 19,19) with plans to finishing touring and begin work on their third album, frontman Flowers told us backstage at the festival that his band plan to squeeze in one more record this year. "We're going to release a b-sides album in November, that's a new thing to talk about," he explained. "There are some good songs that we've released and so it will be good to have the out there for people." The singer wasn't sure of the exact tracklisting for the album yet, but the band have build up a host of extra songs during their two albums with the likes of 'Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town' which backed 'Andy You're A Star' and 'All These Things That I've Done' b-side 'Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself' are in consideration for the record. Flowers confirmed that the album will include some of the remixes that the band have had done of their songs, but joked "only the good ones". The singer confirmed that the album will include some of the remixes that the band have had done of their songs, but joked "only the good ones", singling out the Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix of 'Mr Brightside' in particular for its influence on the band's songwriting. "We actually started changing things around [when recording 'Sam's Town'] because of a remix of 'Mr Brightside' done by the Thin White Duke. We never thought to do this, which is ridiculous but now we're learning, but he took off all the chords, changed them and just kept my vocal melody going through the song," explained Flowers. "It gave you a whole new emotion to 'Mr Bightside' and it was beautiful. That made us look at the way we write things differently." Although the band are only two albums in, The Killers frontman said he didn't think a b-sides release was too soon. "We've just got a lot of good songs, so we're just slowly going to grind everyone down until they admit we can do pop better than anyone else," said the singer, he added that the collection is also likely to feature new material for the band. "I think we're going to do some new songs to go on there." Flowers added that the band had already recorded another Christmas single for AIDs charity RED following last year's 'A Great Big Sled'. "It's called 'Don't Shoot Me Santa'," explained Flowers. "I really liked doing one last year, so we've done another. Maybe we could done one every year and in ten year's time we'll have an album of them Source: NME.com The Xmas single should be very interesting. ^_^
August 24, 200717 yr "In England we have a lot of B-sides that people in America would never know about because we don't have singles here," Flowers tells Billboard.com. "So we have about 15 of these songs that people have never heard, and we wanted to stick them on something for people to get to have them all together." That´s sounds great! :cheer: And can't wait to listen 'Don't shoot me Santa'
August 27, 200717 yr ooh good news :D hopefully there will be new songs on there like brandon says cos i've already got most of the B-sides and remixes etc  looking forward to the xmas song though
September 6, 200717 yr Is Bling not getting released now? It's one of the best songs on the album ^_^
September 23, 200717 yr Author i hope it gets more exposure than 'a great big sled'... I expect it will do. It'll have a full physical release unlike "A Great Big Sled" and downloads now count towards the chart more so it'll have a bigger impact on the charts. :D Should go top 10.
