August 24, 200717 yr with both Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty in the news this week with drug problems..... what is it that drives talented people to self-destruct? Check this news thread on Amy's latest, shocking chapter... http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry1378927 Its nothing new Russ Hendrix, Janis Joplin and so on and right the way through to the modern day Main thing I would say is money Young men and women suddenly having millions thrust at them when they are not mentally capable of handling the situation just blow the money on the wrong things and end up on a self destructive path
August 24, 200717 yr I think that these people come into fame so early that they leave school and almost immediately they are in the public eye with little supervision and to be honest i think they think they are invicible!
August 24, 200717 yr Britney doesn't do drugs...there's never been any evidence of that. She went a little loopy, and who wouldn't with so much press attention, a divorce on the go, and kids to bring up? Perhaps booze but never drugs. Back on topic, I don't think any higher proportion of celebs do drugs than of the general public; there's a handful of celebs in the press regularly with regards to drugs.

She went a little loopy, and who wouldn't with so much press attention, a divorce on the go, and kids to bring up? Perhaps booze but never drugs. Yes and there goes a flying pig past my window. So her credible ex-manager is lying when she said that Britney shaved off her hair because her estranged husband said that illegal substances could show up in samples of her hair much longer than in the bloodstream. And the 5 Star reputable hotel where Britney & Paris went on their memorable binge (where the photos of something rhyming with Britney's binge came out) are lying when they said that a small amount of Cocaine was found in the room where they were staying. And how do you explain Britney's erriatic behaviour in a few different interviews recently. What ever the cause it certainly was not caused by alcohol (over) consumption because her speech was not slurred, it was caused by taking a substance either legally perscribed to her by some chemist or something else illegal or she is mentally ill.
August 24, 200717 yr Better to ask what makes self-destructive people so talented. Surely it's pretty well established that troublesome backgrounds can sometimes lead to finding a way out via creativity. If you delve into the backgrounds of quite a lot of creative people over the centuries, whether painters, musicians, novelists, dancers or whatever, you will find a troubled past. I think Freud said something about art being a way of changing the world by people who are disatisfied with it, or with their own experience of it. Sadly, alcohol and drugs are another way of dealing with unhappiness, so it should come as no surprise that often creative people resort to them. Of course some of them are going to crash and burn in front of our eyes (or rather the prying eyes of the media). I find it more remarkable that so many stay so sane!

Many people including extras on the set of the music video and stylists at the magazine shoot confirmed the story about that OK! shoot is complete and utter bollox - she never 'mopped up spilt wine with a Gucci dress' or 'cried when they tried to do her hair' or whatever - all complete pap crap that the public believe because we are the Paparazzi's puppets! Britney just has severe depression, its plain to see - and after living with a druggy husband who's sole intentions were to strip Britney of her cash, who wouldn't be?! Plenty of people have been quick to say Britney's mad, a raving loony, but I for one haven't seen anything about her doing drugs - there's pics of Amy on drugs, pics of Pete and pics of Lindsay - no pics of Britney.

August 24, 200717 yr There goes another flying pig across my window It would probably be better if you said something to back that up
August 24, 200717 yr I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever with so called "stars" self destructing, because they cannot stand the pressure of success and fame. They are damn well lucky to live the life style they have ,they should try and live on an average wage, with the pressures we have to cope with. They have absolutely no comprehension of the real world. They live in a fake world full of hangers on, and lovey dovey "friends", who would kiss their a*se to be part of the in crowd. If they can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen. <_<
August 25, 200717 yr Author quite how, when we're discussing a groundbreaking, multi-talented, phenomena like Amy Winehouse, we suddenly end up talking about a sad, washed-up pop puppet like Britney Spears is beyond me. To claim Spears isn't on drugs - prescription AND non-prescription - is, quite frankly, ludicrous and delusion of the highest, most starry-eyed kind. Check the girl's pupils in recent pics - especially the ones where she's attacking a photographer with an umbrella. Drink makes you crazy - but it doesn't affect your pupils
August 25, 200717 yr I don't recall those pictures being large or detailed enough to make any kind of comment about her pupils; if you wish to post them and prove me wrong I'll be happy for you to do so.
August 25, 200717 yr omg let them have fun if thats wht they want! What a stupid comment These people are ROLE MODELS. Look at some of the numbskulls that worship Paris Hilton on here and defend everything she does and look up to her and see no wrong in her, obsessed fans of artists mimic what those artists do and so on so are more likely to take drugs and see them as "cool" because their idol takes them etc Many of their fans are likely to take drugs because their idols do, drugs KILL and wreck lives and destroy families Funerals are real fun jonie :manson:  Edited August 25, 200717 yr by Vic Vega

They don't ask to be role models. They ask to sing, or act or whatever, and if we choose to make them role models then that's our own fault :arrr: Really should anybody look up to somebody they don't know, or consider them a role model? They're actually total strangers...
August 25, 200717 yr quite how, when we're discussing a groundbreaking, multi-talented, phenomena like Amy Winehouse, we suddenly end up talking about a sad, washed-up pop puppet like Britney Spears is beyond me. I am sorry but in those photos she looks like all the other f***ed up drug addicts to me ..... her feet FFS!!! Why should I care about her willingly killing herself anymore than I do about all the other drug addicts in the gutter on the streets? If she wants to kill herself she should get on with it and the press shouldn't glorify it If I did what she has done, walked down the road l like she did I would be locked up .....
August 25, 200717 yr Author Why should I care about her willingly killing herself anymore than I do about all the other drug addicts in the gutter on the streets? If she wants to kill herself she should get on with it and the press shouldn't glorify it it's more than a little ironic (and moronic) to make a statement like this when you have a Robbie Williams sig, don't you think? Is he just another drug addict akin with those dying in the gutter? Drug addiction isn't a CHOICE... ANY addiction is an ILLNESS. Unfortunately, we live in a society that simply fails to grasp the severity and true nature of addiction, we either brush it under the carpet or we ridicule the addict. The most crippling of all addictions - alcoholism - is the root cause of so much of this country's problems.
