Posted August 25, 200717 yr BEST UK FEMALE Amy Winehouse Beverley Knight Corinne Bailey Rae Jamelia Joss Stone The ceremony will be held London's 02 Arena September 19th and broadcast September 21st, most probably on BBC Three (like last year). Vote for Bev here.
August 26, 200717 yr Author Jeese - thats awful! Beverley deserves it so much more - its not about the album, but about the artist and Bev is so much more talented!
August 27, 200717 yr Author True, but I reckon based on the year Jamelia deserves more credit Im sure she's only had one single this year. The album was released last year was'nt it?
August 27, 200717 yr And one album as well ^_^ Which is excellent and, Im sorry to say, I would take over Music City Soul any day.
August 28, 200717 yr Author And one album as well Which is excellent and, Im sorry to say, I would take over Music City Soul any day. Yeah, i respect your opinion. I have both albums too though and i think the talent that oozes from the live sessions on Beverleys deserves a best female award high above anyone elses album attempts this/last year.

September 5, 200717 yr No offence to anyone, but as a good a singer as Bev is, she really didn't deserve this nomination. Her stuff has underperformed dramatically... obviously a sign that she's decreasing in quality/popularity. It seems a bit silly to me that she automatically gets nominated because the UK has so few acts that fit into this category.

The awards are to celebrate good music - so does that mean that if songs/albums dont do well commercialy then the artists should'nt be nominated? ... Thats the thing with award ceremonys, most keep giving nominations to the most popular people so they get more votes - unlike the MOBO's.

I agree ... the point of these awards should be that not just any old $h!t that can hit number one (lets face it, you or i could probably record something, press a few buttons in a recording studio to make a half deacent vocal and the brit public would lap it up if we had a deacent gimmick) but to celebrate great music.

LOL true. Although i do want a career in music so i hope that will happen (without being any old $h!t and needing a gimmick!).
