When i went to the cinema last week there were posters of this film EVERYWHERE! And one review that stuck out to me was that it was a "classic in the making" and i wouldnt be surprised if it was. It looks really well made and its nice to have another GOOD Disney/Pixar film after that horror that was Cars :puke2:

I think 'Cars' was quite good (I even bought it on DVD ), however this looks AWFUL. I'll probably see it because I've seen all the Pixar films, but it really does look terrible with zero plotline and just bleh animation that we've all seen a million times before.

I've got a soft spot for Disney Pixar animations, the trailers I've seen for this movie looks great, this is going to make a mint when its released, its looks like the best animation they ever done for a long time, along with the Toy Story series and Finding Nemo.

Toy Story 3 is out for a 2009 release

should be alright. #1 at the french box office, so as it hasnt pissed them off with an american view of french culture must be doing sumthing right
How can a film about a rat becoming a chef be called film of the year and best animation ever?
Not to mention probably having the most boring, uninspiring trailer EVER
It does look more thrilling than Transformers, the action scenes in it must be terrific. Maybe there's a bionical carrot that comes to life and stars a war with broccolli. That would be a good film.
I think it's less about the food, more about the rat if I'm honest :( But you're correct, that's an amazing idea for a film.

[edit]Popular and critical reaction

Ratatouille opened to much acclaim. As of mid July, 2007, the film is 96% 'certified fresh' on Rotten Tomatoes and scores 96/100 on Metacritic. The film, as of July 2007, is the sixth highest Metacritic film rating ever, and the highest for Pixar and Disney in general.[1]

[edit] Box office

The film debuted at #1 with $47 million United States weekend sales[28], the lowest Pixar opening since A Bug's Life. However, in France, the location in which the film takes place, the film broke the record for the biggest debut for an animated film.[29] So far, the film has made $348.6 million worldwide.[30]

[edit] DVD Release

Ratatouille will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in North America on November 6, 2007,[31]. One of the special features on the disc will be a short film featuring Emile and Remy entitled "Your Friend the Rat"[32].
