Posted August 26, 200717 yr JDL's Top 40 Tunes Of The Week (week beginning: 24/08) We've got quite a hectic chart this week as we welcome 6 new entries and 1 re-entry. Before we kick off with the newies, we've got change up at the top. Yep, unexpectedly Girls Aloud have jumped an enormous 18 places from last weeks #19 to this weeks #1; in the process knocking Robyn's "With Every Heartbeat" (which is slowly becoming a modern-day classic) off the top after only 2 weeks. Well done to the girls - I fully take back what I said last week (that "Sexy! No No No" was good, but not up to the quality of classics such as "No Good Advice" or "Jump (For My Love") and say this IS one of the best they've ever done - the extremely weird beginning leads to a thumpin' chorus which'll have you shakin it all over Dancefloors across the country! New entries this week come from a returning Eve. Full of sexy hooks, an addictive bass and provocative vocals, she's back on top form with "Tambourine" (straight in at #5). 3 places lower we welcome former Black Eyed Peas lead vocalist Will.I.Am - "I Got It From My Mama" (in at #8) is a late-summer anthem which I predict is gonna be HUGE when it gets its physical release. Just outside the top 10 we have a late arrival from Yves La Rock - "Rise Up" (in at #12) took awhile to catch on but now I love it - the lyrics are just adorable. Scraping into the top 15 is the returning Armand Van Helden (in at #15) with "I Want Your Soul" - this is the follow-up to the classic summer smash "NYC Beat" (CRIMINAL it wasn't physically released. This is STILL in the chart. A none mover at #39 this week) and it's just as good, if not even better. A place lower is Kanye West; re-entering the chart this week with "Stronger" - its taken me a while to grow acustom to the Daft Funk-sampled anthem, but after a few weeks abscence, he's back. Could he continue his climb into the top 10 next week? You'll have to come back next week and find out! Other new entries come from Gym Class Heroes - "Clothes Off" enters just outside the top 20 at #21, whilse lower down the chart we welcome back "Here (In Your Arms)" hitmakers Hellogoodbye.
