I love Nothing Compares 2 U, one of the best covers of all time.

Her first two albums are great although I thought her covers album was really sucky.

Absolutely fantastic voice. Hasn't she got something coming out with Ian Brown soon.

'mandinka' is the only one of hers i like, nc2u is overplayed. every track has a shelf life, theres only so many times any one track can be listend to with pleasure, nc2u passed that boundary many years ago.

yeah her voice actually gives that record that bit extra. another good massive attack vocalist

I think that it just depends on how much you like a song. I first listened to She Sells Sanctuary and When Doves Cry over 20 years ago and still get pleasure every time I hear them whereas some songs I will only listen to 10 times and that's enough.

Of course. For me I still love NC2U loads and am still happy listening to it.

I think some of her stuff is okay.

She's got a terrific voice when she's at her best - which depends largely on the song. I always hated NC2U. I don't like the song and I don't think it suited her voice.

 

OTOH, Mandinka did suit her voice and, as a result, was a great single. Her version of Don't Cry For Me Argentina was surprisingly good - and certainly better than Madonna's version.
