oh yeah and it says on the advert that its based on a story by stephen king, but i cant find any books called 1408, anyone got any info on this? cuz i'd like to read the book too :unsure:

You wont find a book called "1408" because it's actually a short story within a collection called "Everything's Eventual - 14 Dark Tales".... :)

This looks like one of those films that will get really bad reviews, a bit like 'Number 23' with Jim Carey. :lol:

I saw it today and i thought it was ok, went a bit weird towards the end and didnt scare me as much as i thought it would tho, but i still thought it was a good film

my mum was watching this 2day n i seen abit but it didnt look very good

i like the ending as you could read a lot of ambiguity into it, and cool that it had that obv twist ending that you knew was coming. takes guts to do that and then realize thats not the end. my dad would have been like 'well i told you what happened at the start' and then would look stupid when he realized it was not the proper ending. cool

well the idea is you make up your own opinion of what happens that the idea of being ambiguaty. obv its not a film thats so ambigius at the end that its one that produces loads and loads of critical therory, but theres something there to at least have some opinions on what is meant/their status at the end.

I just saw it at cinema and I liked it except from the end.I have heard that there is an alternative ending,is it true? :unsure:

I just came back from watching this, it made me jump in a few places, when unexpected things do happen, quite enjoyable to watch, but the ending was a bit naff, and some bits far fetched, I just knew when John Cusack smashed the picture on the wall depicting the ship, that the room was going to be eugulfed with water, I actually saw that coming, that bit was a bit far fetched.

 

And when he climbs outside the room, trying to get to the next room, I just knew there be nothing there

well yes,there are some moments that you already know what is going to happen,but I liked it.I saw the alternative ending too,but it was similar to the first one -_-

I was looking forward to this for ages cos I heard loads of good reviews. I was soooooooooo disappointed. I was ok but nowhere near as good as what I was expecting

This was a great film with excellent suspense and intrigue, and a film which was made even better by the casting of two of the greatest actors in modern American cinema.

yes,I just downloaded the movie and it had a different ending from that that I watched at cinema.do you want me to send you a pm and tell you what happened? :unsure:
