Take That are the bookies' favourites to bag an Oscar – with a song that hasn't even been released yet.

The tune in question, Rule The World, provides the soundtrack to Lock Stock producer Matthew Vaughn's new movie Stardust.

A fantasy adventure, which stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Sienna Miller, the movie premiered in America last month and comes to the UK on 19 October.

Take That have so far kept the full version of the song under wraps and will perform it for the first time at the National Movie Awards later this month.

The star-studded bash has been created to honour the top grossing films at the UK box office over the past year and will be screened on ITV the following night.

A Take That insider tells the Sun: 'The band are really excited because they have never played in front of an audience like that before.'

Looks like Robbie Williams will have to draw the curtains in his LA home next time the Oscars roll into town.

Sorry, don't mean to criticise anyone's choice of posts, but what's the purpose of having that on here ? There's no information about Rob, only info about TT including a dig at Rob. :arrr: That article does nothing but wind me up <_<

KYLIE MINOGUE and ROBBIE WILLIAMS are being secretly lined up for next years Brit Awards.

Kylie has already agreed to perform at Februarys show and Robbie is in talks to make a spectacular comeback.

Kylie turned down £1million to co-host this years show. But she feels the time is now right for her big comeback after battling back to full fitness and with a new single, 2 Hearts, and a new album set for release in November.

It is her first fresh material since she fell ill with breast cancer and theres huge excitement about her comeback.

Brits bosses have also come up with a brilliant idea to bring back Robbie “from the dead” by having him rise from a coffin on stage.

This years bash was overshadowed by Robbie checking into rehab for addiction to prescription drugs a day before the Valentines Day ceremony.

It was the show in which TAKE THAT won a Bizarre-sponsored gong for Patience, and JOSS STONE effectively ended her pop career in the UK with her embarrassing US drawl and silly speech.

Love him or loathe him, Robbies a brilliant showman and would pull in millions of TV viewers.

Another plan is to replace the International Male and International Female categories with one big International Artist category.

But surely it means fewer big American stars may turn up?

A source said: “Kylie is a huge coup. She always steals the show, gives a dazzling performance and the viewers at home love her. The idea for Robbie to turn up and rise out of a coffin is not a done deal yet.”

Party time at Robbie's world

Herald Sun

WHEN Robbie Williams took World Party's She's the One to No.1 in Britain in 1999 one man wasn't happy: Karl Wallinger, the man who wrote the song.

Williams' musical cohort at the time, Guy Chambers, had been in an old incarnation of World Party.

He not only recommended Robbie cover She's the One, but recruited Wallinger's band to record a note-for-note replica.

"My band recorded with Robbie and were told not to tell me, everyone kept schtum," Wallinger says. "It was a bit weird."

Wallinger slagged off the Williams version ("He nicked my pig and killed it but it gave me enough bacon to live on for four years" was one quote that still haunts him) but his beef was more with Chambers; the pair have since made up.

"People go a bit bonkers in this world, where everyone makes money out of you. Normal life becomes hotels and models. There's a lot to be said for not having made it."

Wallinger has flirted with success since World Party's ecological-before-its-time global hit Ship of Fools in 1987.

"That song has more meaning at the moment than when I wrote it 20 years ago," Wallinger says.

"We've not been saved yet and we might be in jeopardy of being completely failed to be saved."

Random international hits followed -- Put the Message in the Box, Private Revolution, Way Down Now and Is it Like Today?

After the highs of secondhand success with Williams, Wallinger suffered a devastating low -- a brain aneurism in 2001.

After five years of rehab, he resurfaced for a US tour last year.

"I had strange out-of-body experiences," Wallinger says. "Someone was jiggling about with my brain. They put a camera in my groin and showed me live pictures of the inside of my head. It was all a bit Frankenstein. I managed to get them to stitch me back together but they left the bolt out."

Wallinger has captured the experience in song ("the ramblings from having my head sewn in half") and has lost vision from the right-hand side of both eyes.

"Christmas shopping is something to be avoided with 30 per cent vision. If you haven't got peripheral vision you meet a lot of people and they're not always that happy to meet you at high velocity."

With a new World Party album due next year, Wallinger has compiled his first best-of compilation, Best in Show.

"That album is my way of saying 'That's my life. That's what I've done, the world's still turning and

I still write songs. Bingo'!"

Best in Show (Liberation) out now. World Party, with Steely Dan,

Rod Laver Arena, tonight, $98.40/$140.20, Ticketek.

Wow the Sun is full of exclusives isn't it

If there's any ounce of truth to the Brit execs brilliant idea, I hope Rob tells them to stick their coffin where the sun don't shine or better yet tell them to go shove themselves into the coffin

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

LAURA NAYLOR

The chief executive of a children's hospice says a £4,000 spontaneous public collection will be invaluable towards helping to fund its running costs.Glyn Berwick, of the Donna Louise Trust, praised the generosity of people who attended The Sentinel's Our Heroes Awards, who donated £2,000 within 10 minutes.

This amount was then doubled by the trust's patron Robbie Williams - via a phone call with his mum, Jan.

The Donna Louise Trust's Treetops hospice, in Trentham, costs around £4,000 a week to run.

It provides support and respite care to more than 250 life-limited youngsters and their families a year, and currently relies on charitable donations.

Glyn described the spontaneous collection as a "tremendous" effort.

He said: "Thank you so much to everyone who contributed towards this amount. And yet again, our patron Robbie has lent us a hand.

"This money is clearly very much needed. Most of our income is still having to come from the general public, and spontaneous donations like this are really appreciated.

"It is tremendous that people have supported us in this way, and this effort will mean we can continue to provide the excellent care that Treetops is renowned for."

Speaking at the awards night on Tuesday, Jan Williams said: "When I rang Robbie earlier he was asking how the night was going and he wished he could have been there. He said he presumed it was going to be quite emotional and asked if I was holding up.

"Then he said if there was anything at the end in aid of the Donna Louise Trust, I should let him know.

"It's the kind of generosity that I'm used to from him."

Jackie Griffiths, of Cheddleton, has a seven-year-old daughter, Tilly, who is a regular at Treetops.

Tilly uses a wheelchair because she has a rare genetic condition called spinal muscular atrophy, which leaves her with no strength in her arms and legs.

Jackie and her husband Rolf also have a nine-year-old daughter called Candice.

The family are delighted that so much money was raised for the hospice in one night.

Jackie, aged 46, said: "Treetops is such a wonderful place, and one of incredible joy and strength for the whole family.

"The people who donated the £2,000 are absolute heroes, and Robbie is a star for doubling it.

"It costs £140,000 a month to run the hospice, and it is a constant uphill struggle to find funding.

"This donation is just such good news, and the fact that members of the public made this spontaneous gesture is so heart warming. It will go towards the vital care that is needed in our community."

Nice little piece today in the magazine that goes along with the Guardian.....all about ' tatoos'...a nice pic of RW in same....

An extract out of an article from the Irish Independent about Tara Palmer-Tomkinson. Read full article HERE

As frank as she can be about some of her affairs, Tara has always resisted spilling the beans about her time with Robbie Williams, and then James Blunt last year. "I've probably been out with half your iPod," she laughs. "But you probably have a weird iPod. But I have remained friends with all of them," she says, seeming to contradict the entertaining report that she re-christened James Blunt, James c**t after he ended the relationship. Last year, she had a six-month relationship with Robbie Williams. He even wrote the song Life Thru a Lens for her:

"She's looking real drab just out of rehab

I'm talking football she's talking ab fab

Your clothes are very kitsch

Just because your daddy is rich

You sound so funny with your voice all plummy

Now your cheque's just bounced better run to your mummy

And you know it's a class act she'll never ask for it back

Just because I ain't double barrelled

Don't mean I haven't travelled well

Can't you tell!

Mix with the local gentry and don't crash Tarquin's Bentley

I'll take the bends with our life thru a lens ... "

I ask her how she bonded with Robbie Williams -- a man with a similar list of

personal and psychological problems. Unfortunately, she mishears the question ...

"How did I bum Robbie Williams?"

Bond. But if you want to tell me how you bummed Robbie Williams, fire away . . .

"I have known Robbie for a long time and, yes, he wrote that song for me. I wouldn't go out with him then. But that's because he was off his rocker.

"And then I was with James Blunt in New York on St Patrick's Day and me, James and Robbie ended up playing pool together. I was really happy with James, and it was nice to see Rob again," she says, zig-zagging all over the place.

TPT doesn't do cocaine anymore, nor does she do linear conversation of any description.

"And then we just hooked up again," she says referring to, as I found out eventually, Robbie. "He had just come off a massive tour of South Africa and came straight to my house from the airport."

He seems -- like you -- to be a lovable but deeply flawed human being.

"That's what I love about him. I love deeply flawed people. I love people who have been through the mill. He gave me lots of advice but I don't really discuss my Robbie thing, if you don't mind," she says, smiling and scoffing at the same time.

"We had a lot in common. He is a very smart cookie. He has a very good brain. He is pretty down to earth, he is interesting. Robbie and I had lots of good times and we managed to keep it private."

Keeping their relationship under wraps was more difficult than could have been imagined, however. Tara remembers that they would sneak out in the middle of the night "wearing hats and hoodies, going separate ways, like little elves, and then meeting in a fire exit somewhere.

"It would be 2am and me and Robbie would be running around the place like cat burglars!"

THREE WAGS ON ROB'S BED

ABOVE: Robbie Williams

23rd September 2007 By Dominik Lemanski

The Star via TRWS

A BLONDE singing pal of Robbie Williams has revealed how he loves seeing wags on his bed.

But it’s got nothing to do with the football babes – they are the wagging tails of his three beloved pooches.

Robbie, 33, recently bought the dogs to keep him company at his Beverly Hills mansion.

And they also proved a hit with aspiring musician Laura Critchley, 23, who has been recording with the star.

Laura, of Liverpool, said: “Being at Rob’s place was like a home from home for me.

“I went there thinking I was going to record some backing vocals with Robbie but ended up recording lead main vocals on three songs for his next album out next year.

“I met loads of people while I was there, including Declan Donnelly of Ant and Dec. And, of course, the dogs.

“They have to be the best thing about his mansion.

“He has one huge husky that looks like a wolf, another sandy dog that looks like the one from that film Turner & Hooch and another massive alsatian.

“The dogs love Rob. They follow him everywhere and they are so good for him.”

Laura, who starts a 30-date UK tour on Wednesday with X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn, met Robbie through a mutual photographer pal.

She added: “He is amazing – he has become like a mentor to me. I am always e-mailing him for advice.

“My songs are like his early stuff – Angels and She’s The One – and Rob even says I am like a female version of him.

“Rob is a cool guy. He has a great sense of humour and is kind and gentle. We’re going to be long-term friends.”

Laura has also sung backing vocals for Atomic Kitten and supported the Sugababes.

She has a debut single out on October 22 called What Do We Do and an album, Sometimes I, out a week later.

Tara has always resisted spilling the beans about her time with Robbie Williams

You've got to be kidding me with this quote...every chance she gets she's "spilling the beans" about her "friendship" with Rob!

Robbie to play pantomime dame?

http://www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk/displ...;pNodeId=191800

http://www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk/shared/contentbinaries/publish/1584744.jpg

Robbie Williams is apparently getting ready to don a dress for Christmas - to star in panto.

The pop singer will fly back to the UK to play a pantomime dame in his pal Jonathan Wilkes' production of Cinderella at the Regent Theatre in his home town of Stoke-On-Trent, reports the Daily Star.

The 33-year-old has already camped it up as a "laydee" in a Comic Relief sketch for Little Britain - and was apparently keen to hang onto the dress after filming.

It seems Jonathan, 29, is also hoping to rope in his pals Ant and Dec.

He reportedly said: "Robbie is not busy at the moment, so you never know - he might come along this year. We might get a couple of Geordies along too."

A source added: "Robbie is really keen to do the panto and thinks it will be great fun.

"He really enjoyed dressing up for the Little Britain sketch, so he should have great fun as a panto dame.

"The part will be specially written for Robbie. He is too good-looking to play an Ugly Sister!"

Who will he be? The Fairy Godmother perhaps?

Robbie Williams: My LA fears for David Beckham

By Fiona Cummins, Showbiz Reporter 28/09/2007

ROBBIE Williams has revealed how he was worried about pal David Beckham signing up for LA Galaxy.

The pop star admitted he had serious reservations about the former England captain's decision to move to the US.

Robbie, 33, confessed: "I saw him a few months ago. I was concerned for him, because the football isn't as good as in Europe."

But the singer, who also lives in LA, said the football ace had now settled in and was full of praise for his new team-mates.

"But he said the guys here were just brilliant. He was genuinely enjoying himself," he explained.

In February, Robbie was forced to cancel the Asian leg of his world tour after becoming hooked on anti-depressants and checked into rehab in Arizona. He has now vowed to limit his touring schedule to no more than four weeks at a time.

"I definitely wouldn't go on a tour that was more than about a month," he admitted. "I'm just not built for it. Some people are and I'm not."

Robbie also told how he takes great delight in turning down Hollywood movies and TV offers.

"I get a lot of nice film offers, TV shows, that are very flattering to receive, but I turn them all down," he explained. "I love the fact that I don't want anything from this town and everybody else here does. I take almost a perverse joy in saying 'no thanks' to things. I moved here because it's the perfect place to live."

In the interview with Observer Sport Monthly, Robbie also admitted his sensitive nature means he takes life very seriously.

He said: "I go past Britney Spears's house every day on the way to my hike and there's 30 cars outside, and I just want to get out and kill them.

"You know, for some it's like water off a duck's back but for me it's an injustice. It's just how I'm built.

"I'm not saying I'm topped up with the world's biggest heap of integrity myself, but I have a basic sense of what's right and wrong, and how you should treat people."

Stoke-born Robbie now spends much of his time playing for his football team LA Vale, named after his beloved Port Vale.

"The main thing about this team is there isn't any negativity. I don't want anyone shouting at each other or giving each other a hard time. I can't deal with that s**t. I didn't like it when I was a kid. I don't respond to it very well now - grown men shouting at each other.

"I wanted to steer it away from that macho, 'we're f******g hard, f**k off' etcetera. We want to win, play fairly, and get along with each other. It seems a different game here. Less muddy somehow. It isn't as physical as in England.

"In the first couple of years if I put in a tackle or a shoulder that's perfectly acceptable, they'd be 'Man, we don't do that here!'."

oooh, sounds like a great interview! I love it when he just "chats".

Robbie Williams is angelic in LA

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2007450330,00.html

September 29, 2007

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is going soft over in America.

The Angels singer has traded in the good old-fashioned rough and tumble of British football for namby USA-style soccer.

Speaking about his American side LA Vale, he said: “It seems a different game here. Less muddy somehow. It isn’t as physical as in England.

“I don’t want everyone shouting at each other or giving each other a hard time.”

Robbie has met DAVID BECKHAM in LA and told Observer Sport Monthly: “I was concerned for him because the football isn’t as good as in Europe. But he said the guys here were just brilliant.”

Robbie sounds pretty happy in LA though. He added: “I get a lot of nice film offers but I turn them all down. I just moved here because it’s the perfect place to live.”

However, Robbie proved that his bad boy days weren't completely behind him as, after a game of football, he lit up a cigarette right next to a no smoking sign.

HANDS, RUBBIE

By Alice Walker & Emma Donnan

Cheeky chappie Robbie Williams has a real hands-on relationship with the new mystery girl in his life.

Robbie, 33, first slyly put his hand on her bum, before "casually" leaving his palm on her back as she leaned forward.

Stoke-on-Trent's finest export to the US had taken his shapely date, dressed in a green frock, to watch his soccer team LA Vale train for their next game.

Forget that infamous Maradona goal, this was definitely the Hand of Rob at play.
