Britney's New Manager Puts His Foot Down!

This night could have ended yet again on a sour note for Britney Spears but it didn’t, thanks to her new manager Jeff Kwatinetz at The Firm. A source close to the events that occured tonight exclusively revealed to That Other Blog that Britney placed a call early in the evening to the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas stating that she was not going to be able to fulfill her duties anymore as host.

 

Upon finding out of her last minute irresponsible cancellation, club managers placed a call to Kwatinetz, who was apparently busy in a business dinner. After getting yelled at on the other line by the desperate promoter, he called Britney on her cell and “forced her” to make the appearance and explained to her that it was not the right time nor place right now to be bailing out. “Britney was totally whatever about it but followed his advice”, our source continues.

 

She finally showed up at Club LAX but apparently refused to stay for more than an over an hour. We are hearing rumors that as soon as she posed for all the cameras and did her duties for the club, she jumped into a limo and was driven right back to the airport.

 

Our source claims she’s back in Los Angeles as her private jet landed in Van Nuys airport at around 1:30 AM PT.

Apparently she didn't want to go because she had her kids, that's why she left to go to LAX last minute, and left right when possible. But I'm glad she went and fufilled her engagements, it's amazing how well her image has flipped in the past 3 days! :o

 

Glad she has a good manager as well, you have to be nice and very convincing to get Britney to listen :lol:

Yeah, I'm glad he convinced her enough to show up, look good for the cameras and people, and stay at the club for a while. If she was looking after her kids then it's a good enough excuse to not be there that long. ^_^

Are you saying she stayed long enough, or not long enough? I thought her staying for an hour and fifteen minutes was pretty substantial!

I mean she stayed long enough to not be critisized for her decision to leave and a little over an hour is a good enough stay for a club opening to me! Especially when she has other commitments like taking care of her children.

Exactly, she didn't leave abruptly, and she didn't stay too long where people would say she stayed out all night partying!

Yeah, good point! She didn't want everyone to think she was out there to party. I thought part of the reason she didn't want to attend anymore was due to the custody hearing.

Yeah, I'm glad it seems that her kids and family life are the number one priority, and her career is number two. :D

Exactly ^_^ What did she do for the hour she was there? Was she just partying, or in some VIP lounge or something?

She danced with the crowd for about 30 minutes, and spent the rest of the time in a VIP Lounge. But she made a speech or something in the beginning! :D

That's so wicked that she danced with everyone there for half an hour :D Imagine your luck if you'd gone! Dancing with Brit!

I guess this is the type of manager Britney needs, lol! I'm glad he "forced" her to go but it's also understandable that she wanted to stay home with kids.

Proving that Britney Spears has learned a little something from frequent companion Criss Angel, she made brief appearances at a Las Vegas club early Saturday – only to disappear.

 

With her new song "Gimme More" blasting, the pop singer showed up just after midnight as the celebrity host of the grand opening of Luxor's LAX Nightclub, dashing Internet speculation earlier in the evening that she'd cancel.

 

"How you guys feeling? Let's have a good night," she told the crowd from a platform above the DJ booth. Her song got an enthusiastic response from the clubgoers who included Nicky Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama, Brody Jenner, Shawn Wayans, John O'Hurley and Dave Navarro.

 

Wearing a short off-white dress, a white fedora hat and oversized red sunglasses, Spears spent about 20 minutes in the VIP area at a table next to illusionist Angel, who's helping shape her Video Music Awards performance.

 

"She's a very talented young lady and she's going to do an amazing job with the new album," Angel told PEOPLE.

 

Spears swayed to Timbaland's "The Way I Are" and "Shake What Your Mamma Gave Ya" as Angel joined her. At one point, she took Angel's red lollipop out of his mouth and put it in her mouth. She then headed to the ultra-private Noir Bar next to the club.

 

"She didn't really do anything in there," an inside source said. "It looked like she was ... hanging with her girlfriends."

 

After an hour in Noir Bar, Spears returned to LAX and was rejoined by Angel, who danced with her for several seconds before taking off one of his necklaces and putting it around her neck. Twenty minutes later they left for Noir Bar together. In all, she spent about 40 minutes in two shifts at LAX for her much-advertised hosting gig, most of it in the VIP area.

 

While in Vegas, Spears wasn't far from her ex Justin Timberlake, who attended a Kid Rock concert at the Pearl Concert Hall at the Palms, a mile from LAX.

 

Her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who's battling her for custody, was also planning on being in Las Vegas to go to the Tao Nightclub this weekend but canceled, PEOPLE has learned.
