Posted September 1, 200717 yr Jen's gonna perform @ Fashion Rocks... i wonder if she'll only sing DO IT WELL or do a medley for Hold It Don't Drop It/Do It Well can't wait to see this... i'm sure she's gonna make something special... i love her performances... EDIT!! Jennifer Lopez was the most commanding diva in a room full of 'em. The heavy electro beats of her shockingly awesome new single, "Do It Well," hit harder than anything she's put out since, say, "Waiting for Tonight" - a sweeping trance remix of which was her second song of the night. For just a few minutes, Radio City became the pulsing, strobe-lit dance club it was (sorta) meant to be. Didn't I tell you J.Lo can't be stopped? CLICK HERE Edited September 8, 200717 yr by __paul__

September 7, 200717 yr Author 'Fashion Rocks' not such a good fit BY GLENN GAMBOA | glenn.gamboa@newsday.com 8:58 AM EDT, September 7, 2007 The connection between fashion and rock is a mercurial one, no matter how hard Mischa Barton and Tommy Hilfiger try to explain its obviousness. The reality is sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. So it's no wonder that the "Fashion Rocks" benefit at Radio City Music Hall Thursday night was pretty hit-and-miss with its unexpected artist pairings or cover version choices. (An edited version of the show airs on CBS tonight at 9 p.m.) Mary J. Blige and Usher teamed up for a playful version of Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do" to close out an old-school soul medley where Blige tackled "Respect" and Usher paid tribute to James Brown with "It's a Man's World" and some impressive splits. Jennifer Hudson showed that her "Dreamgirls" performance was no fluke, serving up a powerhouse version of The Beatles' "Come Together" with Aerosmith's Joe Perry on guitar that sizzled with style and sass. And Carrie Underwood rocked through "Go Your Own Way" with Lindsey Buckingham, even pretending to duel with him on guitar. Aerosmith's pairing with Fergie on "Walk This Way," while fashionable, didn't quite rock, as Fergie's shouty vocals unfortunately overpowered Steven Tyler. And Carlos Santana's duet with Nickelback's Chad Kroeger on "Into the Night" seemed as stilted as the awkward presenter banter between Teri Hatcher and 50 Cent. (Kroeger just couldn't sell the Latin-tinged rocker with his Canadian accent.) Santana's duet with Alicia Keys on "Black Magic Woman," however, was a sultry thrill. Keys was even better on her own, showcasing her new single "No One," which transformed from a gorgeous piano ballad to a massive, stadium-worthy anthem and back again. In the end, many stars did much better on their own, doing their own material. Jennifer Lopez was stunning with a high-concept performance of her new single "Do It Well," which played out like a Broadway musical number complete with fake paparazzi and a troupe of dancers. Then, after a bit of a struggle removing her first outfit, she delivered a remixed version of "Waiting for Tonight" that seemed built for the runway with all the wind machines and strutting models. Martina McBride was also strong with her hits "This One's for the Girls" and a stirring version of "Where Would You Be" that showed off her powerful voice. And Avril Lavigne pepped things up with her punk-cheerleader anthem "Girlfriend," though that was one song that would've benefited from a special guest perhaps Brooklyn rapper Lil' Mama, who spices up the song's remix. This year's "Fashion Rocks," which is more of a TV show than a concert, cut back on the runway show element that was a signature of previous years. The only time fashion really took center stage was during Maroon 5's version of "Be My Baby," where models wearing American designers' latest collections strutted while the band played. Maybe next year organizers will find fashion designers and rockers that have a better fit. FASHION ROCKS. Threading the needle between old and new with Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Santana, Aerosmith, Carrie Underwood and others. At Radio City Music Hall on Thursday.
September 8, 200717 yr Author Watch the performance.. Do It Well / Waiting For Tonight LIVE. I'm so happy that Jen sings live!

September 8, 200717 yr Edited the 1st post :D This is a f***ing good performance :w00t: J's still got it :cheer:
September 8, 200717 yr Author Back In Time Jennifer Lopez, well she pretty much started the whole trend of celebs who sing, act, design and have their own signature fragrance. We think she's going to outlast the current crop of starlets who try to follow in her footsteps. This is the confidence we have in J.Lo, because she has it in herself. And it shows every time she walks the carpet, nay, every time she leaves the house! Take her ensemble here for example, Lopez rocks the 20's-inspired flapper dress by Roberto Cavalli with a pair of Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Although dressed in black, one of Kate Middleton's signature colors, Jennifer's not afraid to take risks and it pays off. The flapper shows off some nice gams and a figure that simply has no flaws. And wearing the hair slicked back instead of short and full brings the look back to 2007. What can we say, marriage agrees with her and so does stardom. Speaking of which, Lopez will do a world tour with hubby Marc come Sept. 29th. With her fifth English CD, titled Brave, hitting the stores on October 9th, there's no stopping J.Lo once she gets going! -------------------------------- http://images.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/20070907/293.lopez.jennifer.090707.jpg It's considered one of the biggest events of Fashion Week: Hundreds of fans line Sixth Avenue outside Radio City Music Hall, screaming and craning their necks to catch a glimpse of their favorite fashionistas, actors and musicians-all arriving to throw down a frenzy of threads, tunes and 'tudes. Welcome to Fashion Rocks. Condé Nast's annual star-studded concert brings fashion and music together with performances by some of the hottest and most stylish pop stars around. The two singers go old-school, reworking hits by James Brown and Aretha Franklin, and their performance brings down the house. Next: Jennifer Lopez, introduced by the most random pairing of 50 Cent and Teri Hatcher (who dreams up these combos?). The gal wows us all with her sexy lyrics and even sexier ensemble-a short, sequined trenchcoat, which she eventually ditches to reveal a shorter sequined babydoll dress and knee-high boots. (That's her in the top photo.) During intermission, I run into Michelle Trachtenberg. "J.Lo was awesome," she says enthusiastically, and I definitely agree. I'd expect a VIP like Michelle to be backstage during breaks, hanging out with the likes of Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton and Kimora Lee Simmons, but the actress has so many friends in the audience she'd rather sip champagne with the rest of us civilians. Love it! Source - Eonline
