Exciting news (for me anyway)! Now that i have more time on my hands its time to unveil the new Top 70. Changes include weekly chart updates rather than monthly, a chart commentry, "chart-breakers" every 10 songs will break up the Top 70 and showcase possible future hits which didnt make the chart this week, a monthly "award ceremony" (including such prestigious prizes as "longest time in chart", "band with most singles in the chart" and "highest re-entry"), the opportunity to make submitions, and finally the addition of more mainstream tracks instead of the very alternative music that used to dominate the chart. To begin this new era of the Mossdog Top 70 we will say goodbye to the old one. Here is the Top 70 for August. From now on all updates will be weekly.

 

Chart Commentry:

A completly new chart this week, which was the main reason for the move to weekly updates. Songs were completly disappearing from the chart and it was very hard to follow. Anyway here we go. Bon Jovi top the chart with the 2005 UK #6 "Have A Nice Day" while Korn rock in at number 2 with "Coming Undone". Thirty Seconds To Mars have their first hit in the Mossdog Top 70 with "The Kill" from their album "A Beautiful Lie" at number 3. Fourth is Jack's Mannequin with "La La Lie", an infectiuos alternative track. "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough" for the Manic Street Preachers, but it is enough to get them to number 5. Daniel Powter is in at number 6 with "Bad Day" followed by Australian rockers Thirsty Merc with "20 Good Reasons". Some classic rock now as Van Halen's 1984 hit "Jump"makes it to number 8. Another group from down under are at number 9. Elemeno P's "Verona" has soared up the chart since it was added last week and is well worth a listen. Its a good week for Australasian groups as Thirsty Merc are back again rounding off the top 10 with "In The Summertime".
