Posted September 2, 200717 yr Gimme More Critical Reaction & Response The song has received major fan reaction across the internet community- most likely due to the fact that the song was Spears' first new music in nearly two years. The song has so far been critically praised from MTV, as well as Blender Magazine which gave the song 4/5 stars. "Gimme More" is currently at #1 on the Hot 30 Countdown Vote on Australia's 2dayfm radio station, having only been on airwaves for one day. Britney Spears is the top music search on Yahoo with all of the buzz around the single and within hours of the songs debut, it became the most requested and played song on Z100, a major New York radio station. The song is currently receiving heavy airplay from many major radio stations across the country including stations in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Norfolk, and Washington DC. Apart from being the #1 most added song at Top 40 radio, it is one of the most added songs at Rhythmic, Dance and Hot AC radio formats. It is expected to chart on the Hot 100 Airplay chart either this week or next week. "Gimme More" is also #1 on Yahoo Music, based on the positive reaction to the single. September 2, 200717 yr If it debuts on Billboard on airplay alone, that'll be something to get excited about :D!
September 2, 200717 yr I can't believe it will even enter the Billboard Hot 100 with radio support only. It hasn't even been released and it's making headlines everywhere. If it manages Top 80 it'll be already a bigger hit than the likes of "Overprotected", "My Prerogative" and "Boys" amongst other Britney songs :w00t:
September 3, 200717 yr I wonder, if it's gonna not be released as a digital single until the album comes out. Sorta like Hips Don't Lie. And it'll be interesting to see how high she gets on Billboard on just airplay alone. :o
September 3, 200717 yr I think they'll wait until the video's been premiered and demand for the song is like sky high, then they'll digitally release it.
September 3, 200717 yr It's being played in the UK?!? Radio 1 have played it at least twice so far. It's got a mixed respone though apparently.
September 3, 200717 yr Author Radio 1 have played it at least twice so far. It's got a mixed respone though apparently. In America it's been a runaway hit basically, I think it has to grow on alot of people though...
September 3, 200717 yr Radio 1 have played it at least twice so far. It's got a mixed respone though apparently. That's decent enough though - Radio 1 plays a lot if indie-pop and has a lot of listeners who bum Indie, so if half of them like this song, that's probably above average for a female pop song :D
September 3, 200717 yr What's the pop station in the UK then? LOL! Well I'd say in the UK it's a lot less 'genre' based. It's less about just 'pop' or whatever. You've got national radio and local radio. The biggest national station is Radio 1, run by the BBC, so if a song is playlisted on there it's much more likely to be heard by the kinds of people who buy and download songs. Radio 2 is also run by the BBC and is a mix of newer music and classics, but they do play a lot of decent stuff, like Fergie for example. 1 Xtra is Radio 1's sister stations and plays entirely urban music :D Then on local radio there's lots of big city-wide stations like Key 103 in Manchester and Capitol Radio in London, so yeah, that's how it works.
September 3, 200717 yr Author Well good to know she has already been played on the biggest station! :D
