My feelings are and always have been that certain talented people are put down in the press probably by a well known pr man, because certain other people have someone in their stable that they dont want any opposition to so they are blanked, that what I think.

 

I do think that some of the problem is how much resource is put into pr. We just have to hope it's budgeted for with the next release.

I too think that goes on - the 'payola' has rolled into other sectors.

 

Female nonentities can become stars without anything which marks them out as different from the average female in the street, whereas guys need to either have a bona fide talent or be famous for linking up and dumping other celebs including the former or be abusing themselves with drugs or alcohol.

I find it hard to believe that every time Amy Winehouse has a drink or drug problem, her record sales go up. I bought the album because I though it really good, this encouragement to damage yourself really worries me.
I hate that too but it's the way it is. Society will never improve while people idolise only destructive elements .
I suppose it's the same instinct which has always made an icon of people who die young. It does curtail any new developments they may have made though. I prefer people I admire to be healthy, happy and sane.
