Posted March 12, 200619 yr "No Name" will represent Serbia & Montenegro in the ESC Final this year, as they did last year. In the Serbia & Montenegro final, judges from both Serbia and Montenegro give votes to all songs, and just as they did last year the Montenegro judges gave the top Serbian singer no points, meaning that Monenegrin group "No Name" go through to the final in Athens, whilst the Serbian judges did give points to them. Confusing I know and it doesn't bother me greatly but I thought I'd put it up anyway...
March 12, 200619 yr They should let the public decide like the rest of Europe. In a country like that (in permanent conflict it seems), its obvious that judges wont be fair.
March 13, 200619 yr Author Serbia & Montenegro has now said that their representative has not yet been clarified, meaning that "No Name" may not be hosting them at the ESC.
March 14, 200619 yr Author From The House Of Eurovision... Serbia and Montenegro will probably not be taking part in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest due to an internal conflict about the candidate between Serbian broadcaster RTS and Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG. In the national final no votes were given to the Serbian top candidate (Flamingosi ft. Luis) by the Montenegrin jury. On the other hand, the four Serbian jurors awarded points to Montenegrin hopefulls No Name (ESC 2005). Added to the televoting No Name came out on top, but Serbian broadcaster RTS refuses to accept them as their candidate. If this happens, my guess would be Croatia would take their place in the final, as they finished 11th last year. EDIT: Serbia & Montenegro have withdrawn. March 15, 200619 yr Author Interesting :o Has this happened before? No I don't think so, although last year Lebanon were chucked out because they weren't allowed to show the Israeli entry on their TV station for some reason. It's a shame Serbia & Montenegro are out though, as their last two songs have been very good and have both finished in the top ten with 2004's coming second. It is official btw now.
March 17, 200619 yr How many years have they been competing for? thats a point how's kosovo doing? or have all the independence plans have been sidelined with slobo's death? :o
March 17, 200619 yr Author How many years have they been competing for? This would have been their third year, although Yugoslavia were in it a few years ago.
March 19, 200619 yr Author They have now decided to have another national final tomorrow night, all songs must be submitted by Tuesday though, so if it goes tits up this time there's no hope for them!
March 20, 200619 yr Author what was the result? They have withdrawn as last night's national final was a disaster once again  meaning that Croatia are now directly into the final of the Eurovision 2006. Serbia & Montenegro will still be allowed to vote though.
