Toy-Box is a Danish pop group formed in the 1990s. It consists of two members, both vocalists: Anila Mirza and Amir El-Falaki. In 1999, they had some success in the Scandinavian music charts with a bubblegum pop song from their album Fantastic, named Tarzan & Jane. Toy-Box is known for sounding like fellow Danish band Aqua, as well as being one of the lead activists for gay rights.

 

 

Anila was born 8 October 1974 in Hillerid, Denmark to an Indonesian family. Amir was born 12 August 1973 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

Toy-Box was just like the former pop group AQUA. They were present in the 1990's till 2001. Toy-Box music and music video style had the same type of childish play and that up beat kind of tempo. There music videos had some interesting features one of them is the way the that the video starts and screen that informes you "Toy-Box Pictures Presents" AQUA's videos had the same thing only theirs was a drum beat and informing you it was presented in "AQUASCOPE"

 

 

Toy-Box's first album, Fantastic, included the hits The Sailor Song, Teddybear, Best Friend and Tarzan & Jane. It was released in September, 1999 and followed in 2001 by a second album, Toyride, which included fan-favourite song Www.girl.

 

The group's break-up has not been officially announced. However, rumours have circulated that Amir is either working as a dance teacher or is planning a solo career. Anila has changed her name to Aneela and begun a solo career.
