September 26, 200717 yr Author I will be listening! :D Gwen Stefani's was last night was rather cool! Hopefully they MIGHT say something about their new single too  I don't think they will Ryan. :( Come to think of it i'm beginning to wonder whether there'll be a new single at all. :\ Get in your bubble bath and listen to us says Alex Turner Arctic Monkeys will be the eighth act to lend their hand to DJing for the night tonight (September 26) on BBC Radio 1. The Radio 1 Legends series has seen the likes of Noel Gallagher, Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl all hosting their own radio shows as the station celebrates its 40th birthday. The Sheffield band will kick off their one-off show at 9PM BST, and will play a whole host of their favourite hits by acts like The Strokes, The Coral and even Tony Bennett. Singer Alex Turner quipped: "I imagine the listeners like to listen to the radio perhaps in a bubbly bath. I was in a bubbly bath a couple of nights back thinking of tracks to play on this show. I could've been concentrating on washing." Meanwhile, the band also praised Queens Of The Stone Age, who made it on to their playlist. "Queens Of The Stone Age is a band we've always listened to - very inspirational. Undeniably inspirational," declared drummer Matt Helders. "We've had a lot of inspiration from them. Seeing them live has blown us minds. Probably improved us as musicians in many ways. It's made me long for more power. An injection of desire." To hear the show in full, tune in to BBC Radio 1 tonight (September 26). Meanwhile the band have announced a new tour for December. They play: London Alexandra Palace (December 8, 9) Manchester Central (11, 12) (formerly G Mex) Aberdeen AECC (14, 15) Tickets go on sale from September 27 at 9am Source: NME.com
