Posted September 10, 200717 yr I just read this on her myspace (a comment left by a user) ... The truth on why Britney's performance wasen't the best. Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney. Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed b**ch said it anyway. Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh." Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli's arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies. While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh. You'll get what's yours. Also Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel... but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do. Supposidly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino... the hotel flipped. Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" during the performance. Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV's sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute. Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air... and for much mature dancing She was actually working with a magician, so maybe that's why the performace was so boring, and she did look upset, if she knew what the presenter was going to say, this is why... seems true, they should have let her do her performace with the magician, with or without insurance.
September 10, 200717 yr I don't think she looked upset lol, but then again I'm one of the few one people of this world who liked the performance.
September 10, 200717 yr Author I liked it, but i'm comparing it to past VMA performances, she puts on a show for the VMAs and it was weird that she didn't last night, so this makes sense that she did have something planned but was stopped from doing it by the organisers.
September 10, 200717 yr Something was up with her, you can see that blatantly. Even performances before this, like the one she did in the Nightclub that time, have been really good. But last night was dreadful, she had been supposedly rehearshing this performance for several weeks, and i have a sister, who is a trained dancer, and i'm telling you, THAT wasnt rehearsed much at all  And this Sarah thing is just vile, you would think she would actually try and get somewhere in life, instead of making a living by saying hurtful things to famous people :|. If there was ever a bully its her.
September 10, 200717 yr She didn't look upset to me, just really bored and looked like she couldn't be bothered to put energy into the performance. Compared with her past performances, this one was embarrasing. Not only was the performance a mess, but so was she. Then again, I think she did it as a publicity stunt to really get the ball rolling for her album & to keep people talking. If she came out and gave a hot performance, people would say "oh okay, the old Britney is back" and that would be it. This way, people will talk & poke fun at her, thereby keeping her name out there in the news and steam for her album going strong...
September 10, 200717 yr she just didnt want to be perfect...otherwise we wouldnt talk this much if everything would have been perfect...she just makes everybody think what is going on with her.
September 10, 200717 yr I don't think this is true, this was just an awful performance and she showed that she is not ready

September 10, 200717 yr Sarah Silverman is seriously DISGUSTING. You're not even funny love, f*** knows how shes done so well, she relies on making fun of people for her humour and she ALWAYS goes that bit too far which is generally just manson worthy to be honest. Poor Brit. :(
September 10, 200717 yr To be honest I'm not sure what to think i just feel she needs to sing live, theirs no exucse for it. As for the sloppy dancing well after all she's been through and having not done something like that for a while i can imagine she was probably scared/nervous bless her, people just need to lay off her.
September 10, 200717 yr I really hate Sarah Silverman. She should go crawl in the whole from where she came from. She has NO reason why she should blast people, like Paris and Britney. -_- I dunno if this is true, but I would understand why Britney under-performed.
September 10, 200717 yr Silverman NOT to blame. One of the most falsely reported accusations is that Britney overheard that comedian Sarah Silverman was going to make fun of her two kids - calling them “beautiful mistakes” - which apparently enraged her. Not true, Silverman’s rep, Lewis Kay, tells PerezHilton.com. “Sarah did nothing but react to Britney’s actions in a comical way, which is what she was asked to do,” Silverman’s publicist tells us. Additionally, production sources confirm to PerezHilton.com that no one knew Sarah’s material before she performed it. “There was no MTV script approval,” says a show insider. “The only person who knew what Sarah was going to say was Sarah. When she rehearse she even said, ‘Joke. Joke. Joke. 50 Cent. Britney Spears. Etc.’ And she only mentioned the names of the people that she was going to talk about. No one ever heard her material before it aired.” There is no way possible Britney or anyone in her camp ever knew what Sarah was going to talk about, sources tell us. It’s an outright fabrication! Also, as has been widely and falsely reported, no one from Britney’s camp confronted Siverman after her f***ing funny segment. MTV is the one that put Silverman on after after Britney. They knew what they were doing!!!
September 10, 200717 yr LOL I wouldn't call Sarah Silverman ''f***ing funny'' f***ing atrocious maybe :) Either way, it was still out of order that Sarah said that joke considering what Brit's been through
September 10, 200717 yr This isnt funny one bit. Totally not when it includes her two children. What this foul woman said: “Have you seen Britney’s kids? Oh my god, they are the most adorable mistakes you will ever see! "They are as cute as the hairless vagina they came out of.”
September 10, 200717 yr I completely disagree with the notion that she did it on purpose. What the VMA's performance confirmed is what I said in a thread not so long ago in here (despite some criticism :teresa: ) that she is indeed not ready, hell nowhere NEAR ready in her mentality to return to the industry. I love Gimme More as much as the next but let's face facts - Britney is not ready.
September 10, 200717 yr Yeah, I'm kinda torn between her a) not being ready or B) it was a publicity stunt. If it was option b, then it'd be a very smart move on her part because it's got everyone all over the world talking & speculating and we're all waiting for the next one to see if she steps up her game. I've said for a while now though that she just needs to go somewhere where really quiet, not do any stupid sh*t in public and just have a break for a year or two. I don't doubt for a second that it's hard as hell, but it doesn't help when you go shaving your head in public, show your vagina off, etc. She needs to get her friends and family close by and just sort herself out. If the performance last night was because she isn't ready, then I really don't think she should begin to promote her new single & album. She's gonna be everywhere once it's all made official, and she really doesn't need that if she isn't sorted out. I wish her well.

The reason I am totally convinced it's not a publicity stunt is because the reason Britney is in this mess is because of all of the negative media attention she's had which has pushed her over the edge, surely she wouldn't risk what momentum she had with the single just for a few more tabloid columns? If the performance was amazing she would have had just as much attention I reckon, I just don't buy her putting herself in harms way once again but this time purposely when it could potentially push her even further over that oh so distant edge that she fell off quite some time back.
