May 5, 200619 yr Squeeze.... the most overlooked and underrated of ALL the 80s bands. Difford and Tilbrook were easily as great a writing combo as Jagger/Richards and Lennon/McCartney, yet they seem to have strangely been forgotten about, although Guy Chambers basicaly re-wrote most of the Squeeze songs for Blobbie Williams. Take Me, I'm Yours is my favourite Squeeze single, an absolute classic. And Sparks' Number One Song In Heaven - another timeless, groundbreaking classic single from their Giorgio Moroder era - this and Beat The Clock were 2 of my fave singles from the 80s.... brilliant.
May 5, 200619 yr agreed russ.... squeeze hugely overlooked. saw them at rock city in '81, they were superb.. i rate 'slap n tickle' as their best... but 'take me im yours' is a pop classic imho, timeless, just like 'keep on running'..
