January 2, 200817 yr Author #4 Left Outside Alone This song was the first single released from her third album 'Anastacia'. This became her second biggest hit ever, topping many charts, including Spain, Greece, Australia, Argentina, Italy and more, and it was top 10 in all the countries in entered the charts, except for New Zealand, where it peaked at #20. The song is about Anastacia's father, as she revealed at the Italian Top of the Pops. It's about how she and her family must have felt when he 'Left them outside alone'. The best line in the song in my opinion really expresses her feelings about him: 'Careless, helpless little man, someday you might understand'. The first video for this song was shot in California. It shows Ana starting the song off with the high part, standing on some sort of a bridge. Later, you can see her walking on the street, and see her on an advertising poster on a pilar. She then steps in a car, and drives away. During the drive, she sees herself kissing a man in another car. Of the past scenes I've mentioned, cuts are shown throughout the entire video. The last part is Anastacia getting out of her car, and seeing people dancing to her song in the streets, and entering a club, a mysterious light shines onto her. This video is okay, not my fave though. I prefer the U.S video  This video is much darker, and has a romantic feel to it. It starts off with Anastacia lying on a bed, surrounded with probably hundreds of candles. There are different main scenes in the video. On the bed, on the stairs, outside and up against a wall. This video has to be her most mysterious one, as its partially black and white, and doesn't really have a story. An amazgin scene is when se lets the dove fly  And the very very last shot, when u see her at the bottom of the staircase. She looks absolutely stunning there. It's much better than the other version imo. Here follows what makes me love this song so much. First of all, the lyrics. They show resentment, hate. They are pretty damn good, and somewhat dark. Secondly, the vocals. That's what made this song happen. They are terribly haunting. The beginning high pitched voice is mysterious, and a great intro for what's to come. She hits lots of high notes, but my faves are when she belts 'All my life I've been waiting'. The song builds up to a peak, and amazes yet again. Enough reasons for this song to be one of my faves!!!
