Is there any update on you chaps working with Kylie?

Well, I'm afraid it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Which is a bit annoying for us, but much more annoying for her because she's going to miss out on one of the songs of the century! To be honest, I always went into the project feeling it was like a lottery ticket and that we only ever had a small chance of our number coming up, but if we did, then we were both going to be incredibly rich! But we didn't. And I don't want to talk about it ever again.

No, I don't mind. They said that basically they had to crack on with the album and because we hadn't totally finished the tune - which was tough, because we only had three and a half hours with Kylie - that they were having to go with what they already had. So I'm going to ring Five and see if I can get them to reform and do it instead. Them or S Club 7.

Is it yours to use?

It is. So we'll be shopping it around various labels. If you see a couple of shifty looking men outside labels with parkas on, that'll be me and Andy.

Finally, Cambridge United have had an amazing start to the season.

Brilliant. Unbeaten in the first seven games and suddenly I'm a fan again. Love them. It seems to all be down to this veteran of the lower leagues, Leo Fortune-West. I remember seeing him playing for Rotherham against Cambridge five or six years ago and he had a great game. The fact that he's about eight feet tall can make him unplayable, in the way Jonah Lomu was for New Zealand. He looks like a very canny signing. I'm going to go down and see a game in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to it. Although now that the Kylie thing looks to have fallen through, I don't think I'll be investing in the club!
