Saw this yesterday. Pretty of promotion for this well made film which is expected to be nominated for loads of bafta's.

Plenty of substance to get the brain cells going and in some parts grasping what has or is just happening it's not always straight forward. If you like layered drama and really good casting and production you might find this in good taste.

I'm reading the book at the moment before watching the film

i really really wanna go see this film, but none of my friends do so i'll probably end up goin see it on my own

i've got the book too and i wanna read that, but i've gotta finish the book i'm reading now and then i want read alice in wonderland

I'm usually a bit sceptical of any film which stars Keira Knightly to be honest (she is WAAAAAY overhyped and an average actress at best, the likes of Kate Winslett and Thora Birch absolutely p*** on her acting wise...) but Ian McEwen's book is utterly fantastic, so I may go and see this, all the review sources which I usually trust are saying it's a good film....

I reckon you'll go on your own. I've not read the book, but all the reviews say the book is awesome but a little complex to translate to the screen.

It's not really a film for teenagers, there is little action expect from World War Two which is hardly trendy.

Saying that it's a classy film that I believe the females would find more enjoyable then males. When I watched it you kinda feel like a Classic FM listener then a BBC Radio listener.

I found the book utterly impossible to read - it's way too flowery of prose (McEwan's major flaw) and whilst I've enjoyed some of his books - this one was a nightmare... I gave up midway through.

James McAvoy is our best actor right now, though, so I'd like to see the film.

what was said in the paper, that she cant act her way out of a paper corsett

yeah cant give an opinion on it as not a film really targeted at me (Keira in annoying clipped lantern jawed accent mode rather than being cute). yeah you could tell it was very well done and that long tracking shot on the beech at dunkirk is gonna be one that turns up on dvd extras and 'how we did that shot' shows in cable tv/sundance channel. yeah that shot was good but overall a bit meh

is it that awful soundtrack

I saw it last night and I was disappointed.

I found it really slow and saw very little chemistry between Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, certainly not enough to convince me they were in love. The long lingering looks were more like cold stares than looks of passion.

The scottish guy in it looks cute

James McAvoy - also starred in Shameless, and was cruelly overlooked by the Oscar panel for his fantastic performance in Last King of Scotland. He's great in Starter For 10, too.

I've only seen a few clips of this, and the one, of McAvoy on Dunkirk beach after a huge battle, surrounded by death, destruction and mayhem - all shot in one single moving shot..... incredible. Similar, but better, than that famous opening scene in Saving Private Ryan.

The book is difficult to read, I must admit, but the reviews for the film are mixed, I think its one of those movies you either like or not.
