We are always having trouble with our internet access though the router, when my son is home he uses his PC direct through the modem and can still be getting through, while us lot upstairs are getting server not available , we often have to turn off the router and modem and then turn it on after 30 seconds, because the router light is flashing that it cannot connect, other times one pc or another upstairs is saying it cannot find server, while others are fine. drives us mad!

Our pc s are on the same nework - it really annoys me when one can get on and the other can't. I have no idea why. I'm back now but about to go out so it's not much good. Unfortunately, Dave needs his for work so I can't really kick him off.
I've seriously been considering a router for ages because I'm sick of trailing cables butnow you've gone and put me right off the notion, Nina.

I don't think there's a perfect solutions. In my last job, a customer was complaining about having no access. The computer Hall said all routers were working. In the end, it turned out that the lights had failed on one, the technician assumed it was unnessary and had taken it out and put it in the cupboard. Plugging it back in worked wonders.

We have cable and wireless now, I've no complaints.

..but Stephen does....blames everyone else if the connection goes.....I just blame BT.

It's very simple to turn it off then on whilsts he's shouting.

heck Pam - you must be exhausted. I don't know how you cope. I couldn't chop and change from days to nights like you do. Your sleep must be all over the place.

I am exhausted, told them I couldn't work...but feel guilty. Anyway they found someone else so I feel better now.

I slept great last night and could have continued all day.

I find it's the second and third night off that I have problems. Wake early hours and can't get back to sleep till I have to get up.

Poor you, my sympathies.

There's no reason to feel guilty about saying no when asked to do extra, if you've reached exhaustion point. That low you probably would only be working at about 60%, not matter how hard you tried.

I did it all the time early in my career and the result was the same every time............. I got so ill, I had to be off for weeks. It was only when I got hepatitis and was confined to bed for months, I started to pace myself better. The authorities never figured out how I caught it. My guess is I'd just run my immune system down far too low and I was unlucky enough to come across a carrier somewhere or other..
