That depends on the family. Sometimes Christmas can be the most stressful time because everyone is together.
I like the run up to Christmas and I do enjoy spending time with as many of the individual families who make up the extended family as I can over the Twelve Days of Christmas but tbh on Christmas Day itself, I'm happiest in a group of about a dozen or so. Even at that, I tend to escape to the kitchen every so often.

Hubby is buying me a new Dell computer for Xmas. I have to decide on what

specifications I need. But most is double dutch to me! He knows even less!

I'd find it very difficult to select specifications. Don't Dell have a phone line where you could speak to someone who could listen to what you want the computer to do and suggest which components would be best?

The trouble is that I am still semi-illiterate computer-wise.As I find out more, presumably I shall need higher specifications. I don't know what I want the computer to do until I understand what it can do !

Catch 22 ?

Dell do make it quite easy on their site. It may be good to make sure you can pick u and record TV - just in case Darius is on. The people I know who have got Dell have been really pleased. The specs wouldn't be what I wanted as they have bought gaming pcs.
Dell are very good. I've been happy with my two machines. As for specs, buy the largest RAM (memory), biggest hard drive, fastest processor you can afford. The graphics (video card) is also important and the sound card for top quality Darius listening.

Thanks for the help, especially Nina. I don't want to play games on the computer.

I shall now study the specs of various models. By the time I have decided, Xmas

will have come and gone !!!

You put the bits together. I'd hae to find where I stored the spec. Go on their website and have a look at how you link the bits you want. I doubt many people choose the same spec.

I seem to have as much luck with PCs as with my cameras so I'd really be chancing my arm doing that.

Right now I'm about to go to Tesco's to take back one of their compatible printer cartridges which I installed in my Lexmark today. It's as if there is no yellow in the cartridge at all - green becomes blue in the printout, the red is more like mauve. A photo I copied of my old tiger striped cat against a yellow background turned out like a polaroid which had been badly underexposed.

Off to Tesco's now. I think the rush hour traffic will have died down and there won't be any football match traffic tonight either.

I've just had light magenta run out - half way through a print without warning. What a waste of paper and ink.

I get a little icon showing the supposed amount of ink left but it shows all of the colours in the cartridge even, which obviously can't always be the case. When one runs out, whatever remains of the other colours is just wasted because one can't replace individual colours.

Tesco replaced the cartridge no bother and I've printed the test page and another half page and all seems to be well this time.

I had trouble with my gas fire again and had the gas fitter in (for the second time in just over a fortnight) to blow dust out of the burners. He says it might be caused by something to do with the filter thing at the meter and I should contact Transco.

Are you sure that's it's not just that he's attractive and your putting dust in? I had two firemen in and the neighbours were really jealous.

I've just realised - I've got the calendar pics drying on the bed. Now I'll have to find somewhere else for them to dry - or else they may get slightly creased.

Then I've got yo make the bed - they lay better if I take all the covers off.
