When I was in Las Vegas, they had an Elvis impersonator in one of the smaller casino hotels on the strip. He sounded quite a bit like Elvis, but looked absolutely nothing like him - he was small, black and plump - and he was called Fat Elvis. Lots of tourists bought his CDs.

 

I have one double CD of Elvis and I'd guess I play my favourite tracks from that more often than most modern singers, excluding Darius, of course.

He does have some good songs - as does Cliff. I wouldn't have them on usually. I started listening to Blues at one stage and heard some of Elvis early stuff and liked the original better. I still liked his version though, as they were so different they certainly weren't copies.

I've never been curious enough to find out if the songs are covers or not. I just know I like those particular songs, as sung by Elvis.

 

I have to go now and get ready. I'm going out for the evening.

I'd planned to go shopping in the city again today but it's the September holiday and I expect it will be mobbed, so I think I'll just squeeze it in tomorrow afternoon after my hair appointment.

I scalded 3 of my fingers lifting the lid off the roasting tin at tea time....they are just settling now, made it hard to type :(

Just spoken to SS...she's doing ok and feels it was a good thing she doesn't venture to the pc to keep her reserves up
