The star is currently poised to lose a chart battle with rival Kanye West. He vowed to quit if his album, Curtis, was outsold by West's Graduation. West topped the UK charts on Sunday, and he is expected to win the race to number one in the US later this week. A spokeswoman for 50 Cent refused to comment on his retirement plans. She said that "unforeseen circumstances" had led to the temporary postponement of his tour. The rapper was also due to perform at this week's Mobo Awards and Vodafone Live Music Awards in London, as well as an MTV show in Germany on Friday. Those appearances have also been scrapped. West and 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, both released their third albums last week. Jackson threw down the gauntlet last month in an interview with hip-hop website SOHH.com. September 17, 200717 yr if 50 cent stays true to his word and retires then i will have some respect for him. i don't think he will, he isn't happy with his record company he is blaming them for doing bad promo but thats not true. he may not want to do any promo work cause he is deluded he thinks they don't support him. its an excuse. he a sore loser, he wanted to beat kanye and didn't so he wants to blame his record company when he should blame his below average singles and weak album. he may forget this album and release another quickly to get out of his contract.
September 19, 200717 yr Maybe 50 Cent is using this as reverse psychology? People get the wrong idea what he might be hanging up his mic so it forces people to go and buy his records? I honestly don't think 50 Cent will retire though.
