Just got my Eurovision CD!

I got the yearly embarrassment out of the way and just bought it  HMV had a whole two copies in stock, clearly expecting huge sales

This year Greece plays host to the Eurovision Song Contest, the world's most viewed and perhaps most talked-about musical event. Greek artists have graced the contest with their talents throughout the years. Nana Mouskouri represented Luxembourg in 1963 and Vicky Leandros claimed a victory for the principality in 1972. It was however, the victory of Helena Paparizou in Kyiv in 2005 which has taken the event to the capital city of Athens for the first time.

Fitting for a city that unites startlingly modern aspects with awe-inspiring ancient treasures, the songs being presented here represent the full wealth of Europe's musical heritage combined with new and innovative sounds. - HMV

I was tempted to buy offline, but I didn't want to wait another week! I prefer to have the songs before the contest though ;)

Last year it wasn't so bad as my then boyfriend got it for me, but the year before I went to a different store as the guy serving was far too hot for me to embarrass myself in front of

Thankfully it was a woman today and I just looked at the floor

I think if I was gonna buy one, I would buy a few more cds at the same time, wouldn't look as bad then lol.

Eurovision in the United Kingdom & Ireland is seen as very cheesy and not to be taken all too seriously  however in the mid 90s it was taken more seriously as the UK and Ireland were always winning or coming in the top five. I have to say I think our countries just have sour grapes atm :( but Eurovision will never be taken as seriously here as Balkans, Baltics and even Scandanavia do. I don't think France, Germany or Spain take it too seriously anymore either which is a shame really.

Although Daz is known over here, not by himself though but as part of Uniting Nations. Not sure about Germany or France if their artists are well known or not, Las Ketchup are pretty well known everywhere.

Yeah we would but they wouldn't touch it with a bargepole lol. It's a known fact that the United Kingdom produces the best music in Europe! B)
