Posted September 19, 200717 yr Weller hails Winehouse 'good role model' Paul Weller has become the latest musician to stick up for troubled singer Amy Winehouse by calling her a "great role model" despite her issues with drugs and alcohol. The 'Back to Black' singer has had a well-documented problem with drugs after entering rehab over the summer following an overdose. But music legend Weller has insisted that her talent makes the personal issues irrelevant. During an interview that he recorded for the Radio 1 Legends show to be broadcast at 9pm tonight, he said: "One of my favourite all-time singers is Amy Winehouse, I’ve been lucky enough to work with her. She is an amazing, great talent and a great role model for people. "I don't think the drugs and the drink and all that make a scrap of difference, really. I think you should judge people on their talent and on that level she's up there, a major talent."

September 21, 200717 yr She is hugely talented as a performer but role model ? wtf :wacko: :blink: How anyone who is refusing rehab and has feet full of heroin marks can be considered a good role model (i.e someone to emulate) really is bizarre

September 21, 200717 yr Weller seems confused to me... Yes, Amy is talented... Yes, Amy is inspirational on a musical level and one of those artists who are leaders, not followers But a Role Model??? Never.... A Role Model is someone who you would try to emulate on every level.. I dont exactly call her kind of behaviour something that anyone should try to aspire to.... If Wellar had made the caveat that she was an inspiration in a musical sense, then I'd agree with him....

September 27, 200717 yr I think she is a great role model too, minus the drugs and being a little bit too thin, but hopefully she will get better soon :D
