Both charges are misdemeanors, each carrying a maximum of 6 months in jail. The charges stem from an August 6 incident in L.A. where Spears was in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles City Attorney filed charges this afternoon. Spears' arraignment is set for October 10. The City Attorney sent Spears a letter notifying her of the charges. I want her to get better but I want a new album too. Maybe she'll be okay..? Loads of stars get in trouble like this e.g. Snoop Dog, R Kelly, etc and continue with their careers during and after any investigations so I'm hoping this is a wake up call for her and that she'l be fine.
September 22, 200717 yr I know that I might be a lil selfish too but I don't want the album to be pushed back again as a result of all of this. :cry: I have a feeling it will but hopefully everything goes on as scheduled! Maybe it can be settled outside of court? If anything I bet she would just have to file papers for jail and get released like Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton... I don't want it to have to get that far though.

September 23, 200717 yr she has so much to deal with and so much pressure on her, how is she handling all the negativity and bad events around her? its terrible to watch this. she shouldn't be having her comeback now the timing is so bad. she needs to take time off to get her life back in order and deal with her issues. she could have a serious breakdown again. i think maybe its best to just release "gimme more" with minimal promo support. it would be good to get a number #1 in the US and europe to give her some confidence but all this growing negativity is going to harm her album its starting to affect the single. i think its better to delay everything. do the comeback with another great lead single in the summer of 2008 and album soon after for her sake.
