Doesnt most metal have its roots in a really really very very heavy versh of the blues and is a musical style that has developed from blue's riffs.

if so, shouldnt metal be given a spot at the mobos too.

if this is true who should be given it, which metal band has got the blues the most?

Totally right Alex... And when you take into account bands like Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and others who utilise Rap and Funk in their sounds, then surely if Amy sodding Winehouse can get a MOBO nomination.......

If you know anything about the origins of Heavy Metal, which started with bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Hendrix, it's blatantly bloody obvious that those guys were basing their whole sound on the Blues... Zep and Sab started off their careers covering old blues standards such as "When The Levee Breaks", and much of what Hendrix did is the very point where Blues crosses over into Hard Rock/Metal, especially songs like "Voodoo Chile"....

i believe before sabbath were called sabbath, their first name was Polka tulk Blues Band ;)

their blues influence is very noticable on their first album
