So we've already seen a much heavier sound for the 2nd album compared to the 1st album, but how do we think the sound will develop for the 3rd album? :o

I've a feeling they're gonna go for an even heavier sound, I wouldn't be suprised if on the new album you could hear bits of QOTSA's sound in the album, but i'm not sure though. That intro thing [The Nettles] they played on their US tour was very drak sounding and very heavy so maybe that was a clue as to what the songs for the next album may sound like?

I agree with you, I think they'll come up with something edgier, darker and heavier for the 3rd album. For some reason I can see them developing in that direction, otherwise, I don't know how they could change.

I think after the third album they will go back to their roots, but they never seem to disappoint no matter what they do!

I've no idea how they could change the direction of the next album either unless they went for a heavier sound. :o

I hope there's not too long a wait for this album too, seems like ages ago since FWN was released but it was only like 5 months ago! :o

Yupp, I really hope they won't take long and have a new album for Summer/Autumn 2008! It seriously seems like ages since Favourite Worst Nightmare even when it's a pretty new album.

I hope they'll release it Summer of next year. Apparently Alex can't stop writing songs which is great news. If Teddy Picker is the last single off this album then this era might be put to bed by the end of the year meaning they can get to work with their next album [which I also suspect they're doing at the moment]. It seems like ages ago since WPSIATWIN was released too doesn't it? I dunno why it seems so long ago since FWN was released though. :\

Definitely! The WPSIATWIN era seems legendary now, even when it's not been more than 1 year and a half! And FWN is becoming a modern rock classic album as well!

It will be impressive if they release the album in early 2008 as usually it takes indie/rock bands about 2-3 years to create an album as they have to construct the melodies etc....

Nah I doubt they'll have it out early 2008 as it will have been less than a year since they released FWN. I was impressed at the speed they got the 2nd album out as normally it takes bands 24 months roughly but it took AM about 14. ^_^

Alex:

"Queens Of The Stone Age is a band we've always listened to - very inspirational. Undeniably inspirational," declared drummer Matt Helders."We've had a lot of inspiration from them. Seeing them live has blown us minds. Probably improved us as musicians in many ways. It's made me long for more power. An injection of desire."

i m not sure if that says something.

a heavier sound is something that we should expect .

they are a very young band with a lot of energy.

from the other hand maybe they could try a "Richard Hawley" (like in the "Only Ones Who Know") or even an "amy winehouse" with classic songwritin...

i hope not to see in their new album rap or rnb elements even if their co with "dizee rascal" was good enough...i dont like also a jokey dancey direction a la "Reverend & The Makers"

or maybe they can follow their second part of their FWN with the post new wave elements...

in every case to tell you the truth i dont care cause i m sure that they are gonna back with another excellent lp
