Posted September 23, 200717 yr Forgotten Gems of the 1980s Can you come up with a better 100 than the hits??? or is the same Spagna video that gets played every week the best that can be done???
September 24, 200717 yr I think he's talking about the tripe list of 100 forgotten gems that was on the hits over the weekend. Really poor list. I think this is a good idea. We could do it like the albums of each decade where one person nominates 2 or 3 songs at a time so we don't get a few people dominating. What do you think?

What do you think? oh well he should have expanded on it , he automatically assumed we all watched 'hits' which i for one doesnt! yep, sounds like a good idea, but there might well be some replication with the one hit wonders thread as many of those that i in particular have nominated were 'lost gems'. :) but lets run the albums thread first.... yeah?
September 25, 200717 yr Is this thread is supposed to be about ‘non-hit wonders’ rather than one hit wonders or similar to Casey Kasem’s ‘Should’ve Been Top Ten Hits’ feature on late night television? May I suggest some of the following: ‘Habit – Lucy’ 'Associates - Breakfast' ‘When In Rome – The Promise’ ‘The Indian Givers – Fake I.D.’ ‘The Indian Givers – Hatcheck Girl’ ‘Lightning Seeds – Joy’ ‘Horse – You Should Be Forgiven’ ‘The 4 of Us – Mary’ ‘The 4 of Us – Drag My Bad Name Down’ ‘The Proclaimers – Throw the R Away’ ‘Prefab Sprout – Nightingales’ ‘Care – Flaming Swords’ ‘Black – Paradise’ Re: Spagna Which video did they play on the television? Was it ‘Call Me’ or ‘Every Girl and Boy’ (‘Enjoy Making Love’)? Both are ‘Eurobeat’ classics. I actually thought she released quite a few good records in the early 1990s under the remix skills of GGM’s ‘Black Box’ production team, such as the single ‘Love At First Sight’ which I think was out on ‘Epic Records’ in 1992 or 1994. I also think she was involved with the writing for the Brazilian/Italian act ‘Corona’ with the group’s master producer, Francesco Bontempi (I think it was this producer though it could have been ‘Fidelfatti’). September 25, 200717 yr I think Westworld's 'Psychotech' deserved to be as bit a hit as 'Sonic Boom Boy'.
September 25, 200717 yr Is this thread is supposed to be about ‘non-hit wonders’ rather than one hit wonders or similar to Casey Kasem’s ‘Should’ve Been Top Ten Hits’ feature on late night television? not only 'non hit wonders' but forgotten or overlooked tracks which may or may not have charted. i thought though that we were going to put this on hold until the 'one hit wonders of the 80's' thread was done, as many tracks will be duplicated... but ill go with the flow, if peeps want it to run now we can start a new thread to do it cleanly. :)

If I'm correct it wasnt Spagna herself who was involved with Corona but her brother I think, he helped write rhythm of the night and try me out, with Bontempi.
September 26, 200717 yr I dunno, I'd never heard of him but the Discog website says this- Real Name: Piero Fidelfatti URLs: http://www.myspace.com/djfidelfatti Aliases: Mystic Line, Ronnette & Anquannette In Groups: Amparo, Dakota, The, Eventide (3), Fidelfatti And Ronnette, Global Hypercolor Of Music, Konk, The, Manuel "Chico" Soul Brother, Sharp Nerve, Time Name Variations: All | Piero Fidelfatti | F. Fidelfatti | Fidelfatti | P. Fidelfatti
September 26, 200717 yr I think the record that I am thinking about is the ‘Fidelfatti And Ronnette’ release. I think the record cover was similar to Janet Jackson’s famous ‘Janet’ posse and I think ‘Fidelfatti’ had a bad mullet, though I might be getting mixed up here with Peter Slaghuis of ‘Hithouse’.
