The British quartet will arrive in Argentina, adding to a list of bands that will perform in Buenos Aires in the last semester of this year.

Arctic Monkeys will promote "Favourite Worst Nightmare" on October 24th at the Luna Park Stadium. The British band -who have a big Argentinian fanbase- will debut their sophomore album, which was released under the concept of indie rock (the term "Indie" is related to a "do it yourself" attitude and the capacity of working away from the logic of record companies and corporations of music industry).

The band, based in High Green, a town in Sheffield, England was formed in 2002. Their first two singles, "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" and "When The Sun Goes Down", went straight to the top of the UK charts, and their debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" has the record of biggest sales for a debut album in its first weeks in the UK, even surpassing the success of Oasis' "Definitely Maybe".

The members of the band are Alex Turner (vocals and guitars), Jamie Cook (rhythmic guitar), Matt Helders (drums and background vocals) and Nick O'Malley (bassist); the last one was introduced to the band in June 2006 after the departure of Andy Nicholson. Arctic Monkeys won the "Best New Act" award at the "Brit Awards" in 2006 and made history at the NME Awards 2006 after becoming the very first band to win the award for "Best New Act" and "Best British Act" in the same year. The second album, "Favourite Worst Nightmare", saw the light on April 23rd 2007, preceded by the single "Brianstorm".

These premature and successful musicians needed permission from their parents to start their first tours and some of them still live with their parents.

Exactly  But I'm as thrilled for the Arctics concert, cause I just found out a couple of days ago and I couldn't believe it myself. They have a very big fanbase here, everyone think they're amazing and a breath of fresh air, which makes me very happy cause I discovered them in 2005 when they were starting to get recognised in the UK!

Well i'm glad they're popular lots of places and not just the UK as it's good to see them get a lot of recognition. They should play a very good set for you like they've done at all the festivals they've appeared at so far! Hopefully it might make them even more popular in Argentina too. ^_^
