Oasis to release new track independently

The first new Oasis material since the band came out of contract with Sony BMG last year is to be released independently in the UK next month, with international distribution through Universal.

A new track, Lord Don't Slow Me Down, will be released through the band's own Big Brother Recordings in the UK on October 21 via Vital, but through Universal internationally during the same week.

The track will be a download-only release, and will be available as a bundle with live recordings of Don't Look Back In Anger and The Meaning Of Soul from the band's official website, and as a single track through other retailers.

A DVD release, also entitled Lord Don't Slow Me Down, will follow a week later, and will be released by Big Brother through Vital in the UK and Universal internationally.

The releases follow the completion of Oasis's deal with Sony BMG last year, when a first best of compilation entitled Stop The Clocks was issued.

Sony BMG’s relationship with Oasis was born out of Sony acquiring a majority stake in the band’s label Creation Records at the tail end of 1999. Subsequent Oasis releases were issued on Big Brother Recordings through Sony and, post-merger, through Sony BMG.

Cool  can't wait to hear this :D

What brilliant news :w00t:

Lord Don't Slow Me Down is a bloody amazing song, and is by far one of Oasis's best songs in a decade. Up there with the Importance Of Being Idol. Such a storming rock anthem that would be just amazing live.

I am very pleased it's getting released as it was far too good to be ignored, but seeing as it's only download, then it will still hopefully go top 5 like all of their singles have for the past 13 years. ^_^ It should've been on their Greatest Hits album, seeing as it most likely won't make their new studio album. -_-

yes it should do very well on downloads and with it not appearing on an album it should do well on downloads alone
I'd love it to go to #1, as it is imo, vastly superior to McFly, Leono's and TT's new singles, but without a full release, I don't see it happening. Top 5 hopefully. ^_^

I'm thinking Top 10 maximum.

Its not going to be on Itunes though, or is it?

The video for this is going to appear on youtube on Monday :o :D

Anyone who want a link let me know. Seriously, this is a f***ing amazing rock song that is one of their best songs since Morning Glory material

I think it is yep. It's appearing on 7Digital [or whatever it's called] so I think it'll be on iTunes too.
